What are they saying? Because all indication elsewhere is Clark will be 13 especially with how he performed end of season before injury.

Yeah and I remember Holbrook saying that the plan was always to have Clark at 13 but he was forced to move him back to hooker when Booth went down.

Spending exceedingly too many fantasy hours over too many fantasy years perhaps?

Every year I think of not playing again and then I remember I love the start of the fantasy season too much and around I go again.

Club forums are slightly behind Fox League staff writers and just ahead of zerotackle articles in my books so wouldn't pay them much attention

Clarke will be 13, it worked too well back end of last year not to. Whether he plays big mins or not is another question. It’s looking like Boyd will get the 7 with Foran at 6 and Brimson at 1.
The big winner would be Tino. Averaged 64 in 66 minutes at prop at the end of last season. Was finally playing as the beast everyone had expected him to be when moving to Titans.

I guess you are no chance of winning, so what's the point right?

You will end up tossing yourself all year if you dont play.

Both are good options. Hope that helps.

And they've signed Verrills and Randell to stop Clark from having to play hooker again

For team structure, I am liking going really light in the back 5, seems there are likely to be a number of cheap cows there and finding lots of value at MID.

    Current draft:
    Smith
    Cotter Carrigan Harris
    RFM Hopgood
    Cleary Hastings
    Te Whare Alamoti
    G Jennings AKP Sloan

    Douehi Tino Boyd Loiero
    Doorey Mooney Talau Stone

    $46k bank

Most calf injuries would have Ponga back before trials right?

Or I guess he could fly to the States and see the hammy experts that Latrell and Turbo did amirite

Both your centres and one of your backs won’t play round 1.

There's a bunch of weird stuff here it'd be good to understand. Because you always have good interesting arguments for your stranger selections.

RFM seems to be priced maybe 100k under for his starting 2rf work. That's a fair bit, but will be a slow earn that absorbs a fair chunk of cash. Can't see the attraction.

Harris is old and will move to the middle given squad balance. Hard to see value there.

Tino is priced like a gun and has like 4 decent scores ever. And plays Origin. Expensive risk with very questionable upside.

    But thanks for sharing!

The other two backs will also be out as soon as the first teamers return from injury/suspension, and all of 16 to 21 are 50/50 or less to be named in the roles you want.

Obviously whoever makes a team at this stage knows it'll change a lot, but there are "just a few placeholders" and then there's this.

Anyway, my top tip is don't start the season with nine min-price players.

Lots of cheap backs with a decent chance to start round 1.

Talau, G. Jennings, R. Jennings, AKP, Te Whare, Alamoti, Hunt, Dunster, Hodgson, Perham, Martin, Russell, Thompson, Weekes if Turbo is injured. All under $320k.
And Sloan starts at fullback round 2.

There is always a bolter or 2 as well for round 1 in the backs.

Harris plays best in MID, with big minutes, 2nd year back from ACL is the year for improvement. Averaged 66 in 2021 at lock before the ACL injury, priced at 48. Gun!

RFM has a career average of 49 in 60+ minutes at EDG. Another who had a comeback year last year from a major injury with limited minutes. Underpriced by 10 points. After iPap, 49 puts him within 4 points of the averages of the next best EDG players, but for $200k+ less!

Tino is priced at 52, came back from Origin playing with the confidence of a totally different player, averaging 64 at prop in 66 minutes. Gets big minutes as the captain, and much more involved when playing Prop.

Given how long Papenhuyzen is out for and the current info around his recovery (i.e. it'll be a while), I think Gennings or whoever gets that vacant wing spot is safe for long enough to be a good cash cow.

Yeah, I'm not sure he's playable though. Should be ok to make money and have as a first-man loop if the fixtures align. There'll be games where he scores a couple of tries, but games in the teens as well. Very much a shove him at 20/21 and hope he gets three good scores in a row at some point selection.

Don't want to be too reactive to the Ponga injury, which could be a three-week injury seven weeks away from the season, but Meaney could come into the equation for early-drafters looking to pivot to a similar-priced WFB. Also Walsh and To'o.
