Isaac Luke's father George has been named as the ninth (so far) to die due to the impacts of the devastating cyclone in NZ. RIP. Sad

How often does something like that happen in NZ? I guess building codes and things like that aren’t really set up for cyclones?

Hey Fanatics, a good friend of mine created and runs "Tribe: Live Sports Scores" app for iPhone and Android. I've plugged it before. Hell of a way to follow multiple teans across multiple disciplines. They do live txt commentary on a huge number of games. It's free of course, so check it out.

Also the people who watch the games and update scores and provide text commentary all good paid. He's doing a call out now for more commentators. Enquire within and tell ya mates https://tribe-labs.breezy.hr/p/03725fd5bd13

The cyclone I'm aware of that it's being compared to is cyclone Bola which hit NZ in 1988 so it doesn't happen often.
Only the third time in NZ's history that a national state of emergency has been declared.

From my understanding it sounds like the impacts weren't so much due to poor building integrity more so landslides in developed areas and immense amounts of water on floodplains.

Hope that's not a broken jaw for Lane :/
He had a great 2022 and I was hoping he'd keep that form going this year just because it was so enjoyable to watch.

Shaun Lane suspected jaw injury, probably broken.

Edit: he's off to gosford hospital to get scans.
