Mate do you think it’s worth risking it on BMM? Currently he’s my 21st man. Surely makes their best 17 played very well in the CS one of the few who performed for them.

I voted TU but I would probably go Doueihi and AKP, and use the spare money upgrading someone else.
Havent had him all preseason but can see the appeal.
would likely end up spending it upgrading my WFB so TMM to To'o or Walsh. Both picks that are ok but I dont love.

The R1 bye is a pain in the arse for getting Dragons, outside Sloan.
Maybe BMM loses out to a fit Jack Bird. It's pretty dire for the team if he's fantasy relevant TBH

Interesting.
McLean is a winger and Turuva is not, so that kinda makes sense. But big jump from SG Ball and GPS rugby to NRL, skipping a whole level there.
It'll be a cheat code for everyone for roster construction if it happens.

I’ve got Nichols mate; don’t think he gets anywhere near 50 but he’s got the game to plod a 40 average and make some good coin
Finucane probably the same. Will crack 50 on occasion, probably settle mid 40s but still make a bit of coin priced at 37. Surprised he's not more talked about around here but I guess people are taking more risk looking for those 10 point gainers which Finucane looks to fall short of.

This is the Dogs/Cows run on sides from round 1 last year.
Do you think naming the teams a few days earlier would help stop this from happening?
In all, 19 out of 272 players (~7%) in round 1 played in a position they weren't named in (I am counting prop 1 and prop 2 as the same position. But prop and lock as different positions) . The further out you name your teams, the more inaccurate team lists will become. The Thursday night game only had 1 change to TLT (Jaemon Salmon off the bench in jersey 20) The Dogs/Cowboys game below was the last game of the round.
Nope that wasn't my point - in fact it is likely to slightly increase the last minute changes (as per your sample).
My point was that I completely understand TLT during the season, when there is a fine balance between naming teams as early as possible for the benefit of the fans (or betting agencies.....) and assessing the damage from the weekend before - hence why Tuesday was agreed between the clubs and the NRL (as opposed to the earlier or later variations we used to have).
Just for Rd 1 though, I think the rush between the naming of teams on the Tues and the Thursday game could be avoided and I would personally allow the weekend before for the discussion of the teams, rather than the speculation.

I think Nicholls is a decent shout to start with. He'll plod along with 35-40's and won't make that much money in reality, but he's a decent early placeholder who will get some decent minutes. If he were in any other team you wouldn't look at him but his fantasy prospects are heavily helped by playing in that Dolphins pack.
Gilbert would be good too if he were 100K cheaper. I think he'll get a lot of minutes, but the price point looks too awkward. Nicholls cheap enough below mid range territory but even though I kinda wanted Gilbert, it's a classic mid range trap that will score 45's and sit around the same pricepoint.

Maybe.
Personally prefer he doesn't play 5/8, would rather see what we've got in Sullivan there.
Lock would be more interesting - with Liddle playing like a wish version of Cook (good acceleration with lots of scoots, and shovelling lots of forward passes that are not pulled up) we could potentially play a more uptempo game with a mobile ball-playing lock, especially since Bird doesn't mind the tough stuff. But I suspect we play with JdB as a link player like its still 2015, similar to Hasler Manly with Jurbo.

If he's actually any good at fantasy. Might be a Charlie Staines that needs 3 tries a half to score well.

I was thinking of starting with Latrell at WFB this season, this was before having a good look at the fixtures ... Sharks > Panthers > Roosters > Manly > Storm ...

Elliott?
Collins?
Thompson?
Was set on TPJ but injury thrown another spanner
I was set on Elliot, but switched to Thompson.
Middle > Haas / Thompson / Cotter.
I had to sacrifice the dream of Chin / Beanz uber-halves combo, and am not running a gun Hooker though.

Latrell is somewhat fixture-proof. He has some big scores against tough opposition in recent years

I agree to an extent, but also, you look at Latrell's best scores over the last couple of years and playing against weakers sides definitely helps.
Last year big scores (60+) were: 98 vs the Bulldogs (12th), 84 vs the Warriors (15th), 80 vs the Eels (4th), 61 vs the Knights (14th)
In 2021 his big scores (60+) were: 95 vs the Broncos (14th), 93 vs the Dragons (11th), 92 vs the Titans (8th), 84 vs the Storm (1st), 69 vs the Tigers (13th), 67 vs the Warriors (12th), 66 vs the Roosters (5th)
He's obviously capable of going big against anyone as the Eels, Storm, and Roosters games show, but the general trend has been feasting on bottom 8 (and often bottom 4) teams.
