with the injuries to Sims and Kamikamica, am I crazy for considering an early season punt on big NAS?

Off-contract, injuries affecting the forward pack, he's a big attacking weapon who loves to offload and break tackles and the Storm's early draw is really good (Eels, Dogs, Titans, Tigers are their first 4).

Given Kamikamica's injury (and Kami would get 45-50 mins a game off the bench) and the departure of Cheese, NAS seems nailed on for 50 mins a game and has a lot of attacking upside that other MIDs at his price don't.

Obviously there is some risk to picking NAS, but it could pay off big time

Currently got him in. Not sure if he will remain. You'd think he gets good minutes, more runs, increased leadership with the current pack.

NAS has been my third MID for a week, go for it.

He ticked my bloody good fun to watch criteria.

Nrl had to introduce byes and fantasy didn’t add extra reserves so can’t imagine that combo works well.
    Haven’t made a team yet.
Last year was a team of halves Wink

If you go for cheap hookers at half prices you'll end up in the back row mate. Beer

    1.Hook has no clue,
    2.Bird could play 6 or 11 or 13.
3.Sloan is not first grade material.
4.BMM would be bloody great if it weren't for Hook having to change the team up after round 3.

I would forgo all the headaches for the sake of skipping the opening bye round. But good luck if you take the punt, can't fault guts.

You could probably do worse. But last year, 17 games over 40 min for an average of 50 minutes (which is how many your projecting) for an average of 47, priced at 42, which puts him firmly in midranger territory. Won't make enough money, not a keeper. He could gun it to start the year for sure, but it seems fairly risky.

Yeah the point of it would be a punt on him getting some early attacking stats, statistically over the course of a season he isn't a keeper, but early on there's a depleted pack (meaning he gets good mins) and opponents with poor defence coming up.

The exit plan would be to sell him for whichever cheapie starts gunning it in round 3-5, or earlier if he gets himself suspended or something.

NAS is at the top end $ wise of a risky bunch. I liked what I saw in trials, Plays for a gun team and he is getting a leadership role in the pack and likes to TB and OFH, worst case is you downgrade him to someone who is creaming it from the mid price.
