With a -5 breakeven he would still make close to 20k just this week

I think Carter is a must. Even with a Low BE, even if he keeps scoring 30-35, he would make 100K or so would he not?
Like others though, im not entirely sure who to trade out for him. Im thinking one of the Saifiti brothers or Evans.

No trades for me this week. To early to jump off a few of my rd1 underperformers and the only injury i have *touch wood* is Henry. I dont have the cash to upgrade him to Hunt or similar so he will ride the pine.

How can you go Leiluani to Carter when he has no one to move up into front row

I just got rid of Benry for Carter. I like it. So that on top of Lichaa out for Garvey. Never been a fan of having shit cunts like Carter in my team, but his base stats are very impressive for such a one sided game.multiple.scoregasms wrote:SI wrote:
Thoughts everyone on NOT chasing any more Cows (after Garvey) with my set up?
So for example if TMM is named, I wouldn't bring him in, even though he has the potential to earn big dollars. The theory is I have enough in the kitty and could possibly start making in roads by bringing in Guns now. Although, would rather wait 1-2 weeks to work out who are going to be guns, especially after the injury affected minutes of Round 1. If I was to wait 1 or 2 weeks then would I be stupid TO NOT bring in the Cows that everyone is?
Probably worth grabbing Garvey and Carter. I also have plenty of cash(nowhere near as much as you) so I can afford Lichaa>Garvey, Henry>Trbojevic and Bhana(dud cow)>Whitehead next week. Really tempted to start spending some cash this week and grab Jake Friend or Mannering to get the jump on some extra guns

He will probably make 50k over next 2-3 weeks scoring 25-35 and for some thats enough justification to bring him in. I just dont see him avg over 40 and making the 200k 90% seem to expect. I could be wrong haha. His history of miss tackles and penalties is my red flag, moving wider will cut down his tackle count (im assuming he plays edge with Surgess back to lock) but based on his previous games in 1st grade he will still miss 5 tackles on the edge.

If you had neither would you go for Rochow or Whitehead?

Whitehead for me. Rochow got three tackle breaks I don't see happening every game. Whitehead to me looks like a 45 average, Rochow a 40 average.

Im with Shanbon. I dont think Carter is the must everyone on here thinks. He is this weeks AhMau. People appear to be ripping their team apart to get him in. Not saying hes not going to make a bit of cash but still a bit of uncertainty in that pack, scores inflated with a try. Souths dominated and he loves giving away a penalty and misses tackles. Not for me anyway.Shanbon wrote:

Argghh i just don't know about Carter, he will make some cash in the short term but this seems to happen every year. A 'must have' cow that ends up kicking you in the nuts. I just don't know.

My gripe with Carter is i also bought him in a few seasons ago right before Origin as the Titans had good byes, only for the little bastard to get suspended.

Not many would be relying on him to start. But how much more valuable a commodity as a NPR cash cow is he than someone underwhelming like Leuluai? Enough to burn a trade?

What's there to lose by grabbing him? I wouldn't be trading a gun and I'm going to get rid of a midranger I saw enough of to know he won't push up and average 45+ leading up to origin and doesn't look like making any cash. Carter played edge second row and although he missed 5 tackles he made the most of any Rabbitoh in the game (37), also loves to break tackles so those 3+ breaks help a lot to ones score.
If I can pocket 150K for the same scores plus the chance to make another $100K I see this as a good move. But I wouldn't be trading Cartwright, Whitehead, Rochow, Evans for him. They look like averaging a decent score and making cash themselves.

Already had him in my team but I would be grabbing him if I didn't. Not expecting 40 average but even scoring ~35 for the next 6 weeks takes him to 297k. Not at all unachievable for someone that had 37 tackles in a completely one sided game

I would love it if Lichaa has no injury and free to play. Then I would make no trade
