Why do you think that after 7 rounds your 18th worst player is going to score 45+ points?

I will definitely be watching to see how you can accrue a team of 18 45+ score players by the end of round 7. If you can,  I suspect you'll probably have a 300 point lead over 2nd place in overall
I am not expecting to have 18 45+ players then, I am expecting to still have dud CTRs and WFBs, but that someone like Preston or Katoa kicks on as a cheap and effective 18th man.

The original point was completely valid - the stand down rule is a debacle.

It was a terribly poor example though because most fair minded people agree completely about JDB.

Instead of a stand down rule - could the NRL just implement a shit c**t rule and subjectively ban blokes like JDB?

I kind of agree on this but picked the JDB comment out of the original post because it was coming from the wrong place (tbh the Luciano one is fraught as well given the history of DV victims not cooperating with police) but maybe a 'bring the game into disrepute' type scenario where you can be suspended/sacked if you get yourself into a situation where you generate the wrong sort of headlines or just behave like a 'shit c**t' would be something to look at.

The league is in a difficult spot here because anything they choose is either arbitrary or subjective & both situations are not ideal. What they do have to address (and are attempting to) is that the public's/sponsors tolerance of this type of behavior is justifiably waning.

This is my rough guess of the Chooks forward mins, though Robbo does tend to change them a bit from game to game. Wong would go to the edge and push one of the Butcher bros to the middle, and Hutcho/Turpin would cover Cheese.

    8. Collins - 45
    9. Cheese - 65
    10. JWH - 40
    11. N Butcher - 80
    12. E Butcher - 80
    13. Radley - 60
    14. Hutchison/Turpin - 15
    15. Lodge - 45
    16. T May - 30
    17. Wong - 20

Based on this prediction of mine, I have my eye on Terrell May as a cheapie, but we'll see what TLT brings

Sounds like they highly rate Wong. Would be surprised if he isn't used for reasonable minutes on an EDG with a butcher moving to the MiD

Does anyone have any insight into the Storm 2nd Row?

    Better JS?

    More Minutes?

Just weighing up Loiero and Katoa.

Looking forward to the new season.

Hard to say for certain until Sims is back. Imo Katoa has the far higher potential both in real life and fantasy. Definitely seems the type of player to kick on under Bellamy's coaching.

Thank you I tried Googling with what I could remember of his name and got nowhere fast

If he’s named tomorrow he must be added right? And 250k?

He’s top 30 now mate. Croker will be the 9 if the young kid is named in bench won’t get more than 20mins

Far out. Probably will still sign Tapine, Haas and Cotter and only lose JWH

Bellamy generally played his edges 80 minutes

Kaufusi averaged 79 minutes last year. was only subbed off twice all season (and started on the bench once)
Kenny Bromwich only played 74.5 minutes, but he suffered from a couple of HIA no returns. Without those he was effectively an 80 minute man too

I guess the question is whether the new second rowers slot straight into the same role, or whether Bellamy does shenanigans with someone like Tariq Sims rotating around

Personally I will definitely start with at least one of Loiero and Katoa, and probably both of them. Value just seems pretty good.

starting tariq sims on an edge in 2023 seems like very dud coach thing to do. i don't reckon bellamy does it.

I have both of them in my team, they're as good as nailed on for now and should get 80 mins each given that's what Bellamy has always done - one might come off at 70 mins here or there but not often enough for it to matter.

That said, long term I think Howarth will eventually push Loiero out of that edge spot but that may not be for a year or two yet.

No coach is publicly going to say this player is hot garbage and tank their market value

You need to consider Josh Reynolds. It was eventually proven she made the whole thing up. The other DV stuff was caught on camera or seen by the neighbours etc. I think the blanket rule is a Catch 22! The DV stuff is more annoying as the victim quickly realises the money will disappear or some other reason like ‘love’ makes them change their story or drop the charge. The NRL is in a very difficult position. They have to be seen to do something, whilst the blanket rule has holes I don’t know of a perfect system!

Fox stated he was suspended for Rd1 so Cini is their option on the wing! They are also saying Gagai is in doubt with a hamstring issue. They also have Hynes at 7 and do not even mention he has any jund of injury at all.
