Cheaper, and better base. I can easily see Thompson putting up a couple of sub 20 scores.

Noticed you have Talau mate? Talau has 7 scores 15 or under

Thompson on end of red hot backline in high quality Team, surely he makes more money as provided better scores?

Is it worth going the 100k extra though to just go Holmes with the higher floor if your going the Centre keeper route.

Also Coates also had some absolute trash fantasy games - he was definitely not someone you wanted to play every week. Unless you like hat trick lotto.

Hughes doesn't really kick across the field much, and I can see them going both ways, as both Coates and Warbrick are good in the air.

Warbrick seems like he'll have much better base than Coates, he's just a bigger body and gets through a lot of work.

I say yes, there's a pretty decent chance Holmes is a top 2-5 centre (Manu, Talakai, C Graham and Bird if he plays lock are the main contenders) so if you start with him you can easily keep him all year, whereas Staggs probably won't be that top tier keeper at CTR (he is capable of it though so if you think he will, go for him)

If he was left wing, sure. Right wing makes him the new improved Jaxson Paulo

Worse case though is you can just go down from Thompson to Talau if you need to. Cant go the overway unless your keeping plenty of cash in the bank.

I think I prefer Staggs to him, but one player at the same price who's never been mentioned is Isaiah Tass. Only stumbled on him myself because I was looking for a centre in draft so checking the past scores of off-the-radar picks.

12 games at centre averaging 38 with only one try. Very high base. Either he doesn't know the way to the line or there's some potential value there.

    Beat him out last year.

Plus the response was to the sub 20 scores. Very likely he will get some, but he’s already a better player than Talau who has history of some absolute stinking scores, cheaper or not

I have been trying to work out the gut feel many of us have for Walsh. Have landed on targeting Drinkwater's last fantasy season as the target benchmark.

Both highly rated youngsters, on the improve, Walsh has a better tackle and kicking game, at least as good on attack.

Having Reynolds setting up Walsh with space to do his thing, like he did with Latrell should push Walsh to the next level.

He gets genuine attacking weapons outside him to set up, instead of the shambles the warriors put on the park each week.

A fair few of Talau's really low scores were games where the Tigers were getting absolutely pumped.

I think they have enough good new recruits + change of coach that they can be at least competitive early season.

I'm not saying Talau is a good pick. He's likely pretty mud, but perhaps a few less complete dud scores. i don't see a lot of difference between Talau and Thompson tbh, Talau is at least a little cheaper.

I said a few pages back that the Walsh best-case is Drinkwater. They have very similar attacking skillsets and very similar defensive frailties. Walsh is marginally prettier, but it's close.

If you back the 2023 Broncos to be as good as the 2022 Cowboys, Walsh should have good value.

Sick of the sight of my centres and have brought in Staggs. Much prefer it.

I had a bunch of cash left over after dropping a gun mid for Sutton and am thinking about using it on Staggs too. You'd just expect him to score tries this year wouldn't you.

After listening to the radio snippet Milchy posted earlier re: Ford and Curran, sounds like the coach wants to reward Ford for being the best pre-season trainer. Think I'd rather take Ford than Carty or Garner.

I'm not starting with him due to the injury (and Broncos draw in the first 2 is not super good), but if Garner isn't killing it the first 2 rounds I may bring in Walsh for round 3 (Broncos play Dragons, Dolphins and Tigers in round 3-5)
