im keeping minutes watch on Saulo this week, 278k mid

35 points in 33 mins, looked very big strong fast and athletic, theres lots of rookie mids at canberra, and if papali is pereniially injured then he can stake a claim, started last week and this,

    very under the radar,

I'd like to see Sloan play before making decisions on what to do with AKP/IKatoa.

Would like to keep Egan but don’t have any cash to trade a dud newbie to anyone

I have both and not trading either. Would be surprised if you didn't regret both trades in coming weeks.

    Interesting. This tickles my pickle.

Named at centre too (suggesting not necessarily close to replacing Thompson)

Jesse Mclean missing from NSW Cup (injured? he was rumoured to take May's wing spot)

Suia Wong named in jersey 21 for NSW Cup. Either he's miles away from first grade, or the complete opposite and they actually think they might need him (maybe as 18th man?)

McLean isn't in the Panthers 22 either and another winger further down pecking order (Jenkins) is, so injury seems a fair assumption.

Wong will probably come into the Roosters 17. Turpin *and* Hutchinson on the bench is horrible. Also, Radley must be in serious doubt after his HIA, which would likely move Nat Butcher to lock for the week.

Point of interest for those who own Doueihi - and those dumb enough to also own Brooks.

Brooks has become a running half (much more than usual) who almost solely does short attacking kicks and makes much fewer tackles - while Doueihi is taking all the long kicking.

I did not watch the game so much so I cannot say more than this but the stats were interesting to say the least.

Anyone got any insights with how the Tigers halves worked last week

Captaincy options will be interesting this week. Started the season without Cleary at all. Went Murray captain Lady week. No Tatola and Arrow so will almost definitely go him again.

Hopgood or Haas my other options.

    Who's everyone else going?

If true, probably not bad for Ford. I don't have him, but thinking about it

I am worried on Talau, 21 game sample size at centre for a 25 points avg.

Stash him in EMG, break glass when needed in an emergency.

Just that, Ford would probably rather run at the new guy rather than Nat Butcher. Maybe

This is my team with 112k spare before trades:

    Grant
    Haas Cheese Hopgood
    Katoa Loiero
    Cleary Douiehi
    Thompson Alamoti
    Miller Warbrick Talau

    Boyd E. Butcher Ford Turbo
    Uto BMM Trindall Doorey

    Options are I can hold……

Or I can do Cheese to Bird to shore up centre and then do Talau to Carty but that would leave me just with Alamoti in my 14-21 so no WFB cover if I’m playing Thompson at centre with Bird which I would. Would also likely mean Ford becomes a starting mid if I go Cheese to Bird?

What do you guys reckon hold fire or go the route of Cheese to Bird and Talau to Carty?

Is there any actual evidence Cheese is injured… like a source? Like even a rumour based one like Wacko?

    Probably just got winded.

In which case you’re all dropping a guy you pegged for 50+ average, which will comprise the occasional 30s and occasional 70s, because he got the 30 first up.

    What am I missing here?

I am sure someone posted that after the game he was sent to hospital for scans on his ribs.

I dropped him cos I don’t like his role, wanted a hooker got an undersized mid, have plenty of gun mid players as is, roosters will miss radley and lodge, and have Turpin so I think he will see significant time in mid

Also he is the only spare money I can use to upgrade deficiencies

I still have Hodgson at hooker and boyd cover

I can see why people would keep him, he just was a nice way to get Wilton in for me,

Also on personal level I don’t like him that much so happy to not have him(random I know)

As soon as they drop Turpin from the bench and have full strength MIDs available, would be straight back in my team. Until then, he won't be an 80 minute hooker, or even close to that.

I would say the best comparison to use is when Storm had Smith as starting HOK, with Grant on the bench - in about 15 games, average of 53 minutes for 44 points.

Unsure of validity of a comparison where Harry Grant and Jake Turpin are interchangeable.
