    I’m doing something similar. Cheese to a CTR option to balance the team out a touch.

    Bird, 602k - The expensive choice, hoping he holds the lock role is a bit of a gamble without seeing him yet this year. Minutes could be anything to start the season. Has a history of scoring fairly well in that position and would be a nice boost to the CTR position

    HTF, 402k - Middle of the road option, bumper game playing for his new team at fullback. Always nice to be able to plug in a player that isn’t a CTR into this tough position. Wary of bringing in players that have just had a big game. Not much to say that hasn’t already been said.

    Thompson, 332k - The cheaper option, looks like he should be a good scorer this year in the Rabbits backline. Didn’t watch the game so not sure how he’s being utilised. Looks like a big RM/TB type of player who when scores a try should have some big games. Hopefully mimics Tass’ price rises from last year.

    In other words I have no idea haha

    I'm making a similar trade, and going Hammer myself because I already have Bird, but I would go Bird, even if he does eventually move back to centre, he's good enough there to be a keeper, and at lock he's by far the best player available at CTR.

    There's no one else you can move to Thompson instead? Smith to him seems like giving up a lot for not much in return. Doorey is passable but not great in the 17, I'm trying to keep him in my EMG personally.

    I have the same centres and considering Thompson but would only do that as a swap for Talau, otherwise I'll just run with them for now, they're cheap as chips.

    Unfortunately not. Only 7k in the bank, so if I'm going to trade it has to be BSmith. I hear what you're saying though, I'm definitely not set on the trade, however I do like the idea of freeing up 250k to make moves over the next couple weeks.
    I've just posted a team tracker if you want to take a look at my full team.

    Those of you with Bird or thinking of trading him in, are you worried he doesn't get decent minutes as he's missed a big chunk of preseason?

    I'm not too worried, given he's at CTR the standards are not as high as if he were EDG only or EDG/MID

    Fair call!
    I'm definitely interested but his fitness is a worry.

    Depleted pack, hasn't played under the new points for OFH and still averaged close to this in the past?

    I have Welch. I can't see him going backwards in a weaker pack than last year. Everyone isn't going to score 70 week in week out the first few rounds, so I'll take the 50 and generate cash elsewhere. He's bye friendly and can be upgraded later

    Still paying 600K though for him. You can't not take that into account.

    I'm not getting Bird (at the moment) but its hard to see him getting any less than 60 minutes in that forward pack. Not a lot of quality there. Maybe he ends up on an edge late in the game if tiring, and BMM isn't able to last 80.

    600k is just over a 40 average, which is a keeper at CTR, and if he's actually playing lock he can average more like 45-50.

    I started with him so I'm not making the decision to trade him in, but I think he's easily a keeper at CTR. Not gonna make you money though.

    I don’t think that there's a rush on Bird. My centres are trash, but they'll probably average a little over their be over the next few weeks. Bird will probably average a little over his average too. It's same same start of year ie moneyball to some extent. We'll all want Bird, now is good, but soon is fine also.

    Exactly. No reason to rush him in this week.

    Starting with and trading in now, slightly different. BE now 44, magic number has changed. His price changes shouldn't be too crazy.

    Looking at dumping TMM, along with quite a few others by the sounds.

    Two glaring options, help us split them:

    TU: Thompson (332k)
    TD: HTF (402k)

    Playing as a WFB.

    We all would like a couple of good set-and-forget centres.

    The way I figure it;
    Bird = $600k - expecting a floor average of 40, hoping for a 50 average?

    HSS/Alamoti/Talau - any two of those = $500k - expecting a worst case floor of 40 (i.e. 20 average each) - more likely scenario is 50-60 points combined average (i.e. 25-30 each), with a best case higher than that.

    I can handle a couple of duds in my line-up this early on, and I'd rather spend the $100k difference elsewhere

    Can someone give some insight into Lemuelu.

    Is there a world where we all just assume minutes won't be there and we kick ourselves for missing such a good set and forget CTR option as his price balloons? Or is that really low likelihood?
