Trell trained, Moale did but looked ginger with his knee, if he’s out Tallis Duncan has an exemption to play as we would be down 7 forwards.

This is the sort of misuse of stats that people get so wound up about.

Step away from the numbers for a minute and remember how Storm used the Smith/Grant one-two punch. Smith would soak it up as hooker for his defence in the first 20 minutes or so. Grant would come on and play out the game. Smith would have a later stint at prop/lock.

This is definitively not the plan at the Roosters this year. Brandon Smith has not been signed as a punch-bag so Jake Turpin can come on and tear it up. It's about the worst comparison imaginable.

And if you're only talking about this week (which is a terrible reason to trade anyway) then if you've learnt nothing else about Fantasy you've surely learnt that nobody except Trent Robinson has any idea what the Roosters pack is until an hour before kickoff.

Couldn't agree more, it's the reason he left in the first place, last week was just a series of unfortunate events for the Roosters.
Don't buy into Matt trying to convince us all of his own narrative by talking it into existence. Give it 10 rounds and he'll be MIA again after half of of his hunches end up falling flat NRL Fantasy 2023 Part 11 - The case of the mistrusted team lists - Page 15 1f602

You’re still paying $600K for him so what score do you expect for that?

Didn't have Hopgood last year though and they had quality starting edge's. So quite a different situation right now

Personally can't see that happening. They are down both starting edges from last year, Matterson can play very well on an edge, and Hopgood has shown he can play very big minutes at lock. What they did last year has nothing to do with what they are doing this year, it's a different team. Once Lane comes back it might be different, but until then Matterson on the edge makes the most sense. He's waaaay better than Carty. Given Doorey's not up to 80, Carty 20 min edge and maybe 10 min middle would make more sense. So if he still has a low BE by then (not guaranteed), could still get another rise or two. It's just my two cents, no one really knows.

Carty got a good fantasy score last week but I thought his positioning in defence was all at sea. If he keeps that up I think Matto would defs start on the edge.

Got a lot of time on my hands today, I'm off work-playing Hookie.

You can't spell Corey Horsburgh without "yes".

Looks to have the same role as Preston currently - 50 minute bench EDG. He just scored better week 1 and costs $200k more, available at CTR.

Not even sure Preston has the same role as you describe Preston having currently.

I reckon the role continues. Looked like a planned change to sub Gilbert off with KBrom moving to middle.

The only thing that may confuse later game subs there is the Wallace HIA. But maybe Nicholls simply wouldn't have come back onto the field.. who knows.

But then you've still got a 50 min edge forward at best (who looked great) but probably doesn't go as hard and score a try every week.

About Lemuelu... There are two entries on the footystatistics website, can you or SI ammend this please?

You would think that if they are splitting EDG/MID minutes, they would be playing Carty EDG and Matterson MID, not Matterson EDG and Carty playing some MID.

I would expect something like Matterson 20-30 minutes EDG, then 20-30 minutes MID, then finish for Doorey. Would give Carty about 50-60 minutes, Doorey maybe 70.

I think your annalysis of his defence leaves a lot to be desired, He missed 1 tackle. For someone all at sea which would imply out of position he must have fuckin long arms.
