I wish I could get him but I need a gun hooker first. I do have him in SC and VSDT though which is nice.

Just realised I could do Fifita instead of SJ this week, with $1k to spare.... so tempting!! Maybe my halves are ok after all.

I called tohu as being slept on before season kicked off and I've got one more prediction Walsh is being slept on a bit aswell he will end the year highest average wfb I think.

Just catching up on the thread for the day. Re: the chat about the big bye rounds and the on-field 13 being the scorers... does that mean you could hypothetically run a series of elaborate loops to get the best scorer in certain positions (eg hooker - as was discussed)? Yes, it might mean you need to have 3 in your squad to start with (eg red dot on-field, 2 loopers), but at least you could give yourself a shot at getting the highest scoring one.

Secondly, Carrigan in doubt was a curly one for my team as I wanted to (C) Hopgood as he was my only mid cover this week. Just realised I could bench Carrigan and if he doesn't play then at least I'll get an emergency. Stress over on that one.

Halves this week are Douiehi and Trindall with IKatoa in the emergencies. Holding Cleary.

Good luck for the round everyone, I feel like we're all going to need it!

Good call on Tohu, I also raised the alarm on him early. Disagree on Walsh though.

Lets work on some maths here (assuming your profit calcs are right)

Butcher trade in $546k trade out $576k - you now have $576k
Katoa trade in $497k trade out $587k - you now have $636k (587k from selling Katoa, $49k cash from when you traded butcher down to Katoa)

    $576k - $636k = $60k profit

Now the $49k you get from selling Butcher can be put to good use and make you some more money as well - but you can't just count it as free money.
Points scored also comes into the equation.

Teachers are on strike today here in NZ, but looks like class is still on Cool

    Current Butcher Price $546K
    Current Katoa Price $497K

Trading Butcher - Katoa means I've gained $49K

If Butcher averages 45 over the next three weeks (One of which is a bye but let's ignore that), he gains $30K (It says $32K, but $30K is middle ground) - This means his price would be $576K

If Katoa also averages 45 over the next three weeks, he gains $95K (Let's say $90K, middle ground again) - This means his price would be $587K

    90 plus 49 equals 139K Profit, no?

(My laptop keyboard has some broken keys, plus and equals signs are two of them lol)

I would 100% do that instead, SJ has been cooked since he did his achilles a couple years ago.

That is a really good point, I hadn't thought of that, nice one! The problem is, what score are you happy with at HOK? 55, 60, 65? Then the next guy gets an 80.

If you have 2 halves with 4 working legs, I'd definitely go Fifita over SJ

Yeah that's the issue, same with any loop. But I guess it gives some insurance against the dreaded first minute HIA/random dud score. Not perfect by any means, but every point will help I feel

What are Hodgson owners doing? I’m 90% sold on selling before he locks out tonight. Has absolutely 0 running game this year. Can afford any hooker bar Cook. Tossing up Mahoney and Robson for lack of origin, even tho the former burned me last year. Grant also tempting simply for damage control. Sorry for ranting just trying to put my thoughts down.

Most people are struggling for HOK, HLF or WFB coverage, nobody needs another EDG so he's a pretty luxury trade at this point.

anyone know of any magical site's created by legendary drunken wizards who can't do push ups to save themselves but said magical site allows for such data to be easily accessed with a few clicks of a button?

Keeping him for now. If he can plod a 40 average then he'll maintain value so he's not an urgent sell. If you can upgrade then sure, but I think most have worse players to get rid of

He also has the 80min role which is a positive I guess

If I had no other fires to put out he would be on the block. Fortunately for him he has a chance to redeem. Cut those miss tackles in half and he scores a passable 41.

Will probably need him next week so hoping for a better display

    What is better?
    Looping between Robson+Mahoney
Or getting both Robson + Moses ?

I'd say for most realistic options its better to get the 2 guaranteed scorers than have the loop.
If you happen to end up with the ability to loop then go for it but I wouldn't deliberately set it up
