With Arrow, Knight and Burgess, I can’t see big minutes.

That's true that bench is not overly helpful. But he only needs minutes in the low 40's to be viable.

Last weeks same minutes split but with Sele playing 10mins less and Tatola playing 10mins more would do the job and doesn't seem too unrealistic.

Calling on Rabbits for a minutes prediction.

Could play it safer and just do Ford/Moses to Drinkwater + Hopgood/Matterson too.. but getting both Eels is appealing, even if Matto is kinda expensive

I think Matto could be a strong chance for Origin. But that's based off nothing.

42.356 minutes this week for Tatola.

Everyone jumping on Garrick surprises me a little. Seems quite midranger to me

Is the expectation Turbo makes origin (not a guarantee this season given his injury struggles) and Garrick plays fullback for a couple of weeks for a scoring boost?

Personally, with Teddy, Bula, Miller, Drinkwater (plus Manu and potentially Te Whare on the way) I am not sure I need another WFB clogging things up, but if he scores poorly against the Sharks and drops his price a little more then he might come into consideration
I've always loved Garrick as a fantasy player, especially round the origin period when he fills in for Turbo. But this year Des seems to prefer another option, so Garrick isn't as appealing

I think Des prefers sitting on his couch this year...maybe working on his infamous portfolio of notes and plays

Yeah that and his pricing puts me off a little bit, maybe wait until R13 for him

Prob just go Hopgood, though DBags looks appealing but burnt me last year when I jumped on after a few good scores

Who is VTW keeping out of the team. I guess it could be a centre line up of Aitkin and E.Lee. I didn't see the game but he looked devastating in the highlights package.

I brought Cheese the week I sold Hopgood (round 7). This was not only to facilitate a HOK cover but also MID.
It might be different later on in the season but so many people had an abundance of 2rf but not much Mid cover other than the Hoppy and Ford.
My guess, and it’s only a guess is that he may be getting brought in because people are looking for a cheaper alternative to mid cover without having to get someone like a Tohu (bye next round) or Hoppy (BA coach).
Cheese’s DPP is quite handy if you’re wanting to hold 3 or 4 2rf, which I assume a lot of people still have.

Cheese is 572k scoring 50+ in the last three weeks and DPP

    its simple logic

Hes actually a better trade in than Billy Smith

Last few years I've made mistakes holding on to players that "might come back!" who actually aren't worth waiting for, and I've lost heaps of potential cash/points waiting for them. Another reason to hold in the past was "but I'm saving a trade by holding them if they do come back!"

In reality, even if Couch comes back he's not going to be a Grant, Haas, Preston, Carty type of cow who makes 300k+. Also I'll have to trade him out at some point, so may as well be now.

    Thanks ms

I have taken this approach this year with Tedesco, Turbo and Murray. It has not paid off and I have made some terrible trades as a result.

I’ve obviously got a few player encounter stories from over the years and didn’t want to be that guy but randomly Kurt Mann when he was in newy years ago was an electrical apprentice for my father in law. The knights even tried to get my FIL to pay him extra so it was outside the league’s salary cap system. Made me realize that if the poorest team around is doing it for development players, then every club is cheating the cap big time

I always wonder how much Val Te Whare got paid to be a groundskeeper Laughing

I know people who have got jobs with the sponsors of their clubs/districts, and probably at a higher than normal rate to sweeten the deal.

Haha, looking likely at this stage. Appreciate BCT's advice that Luki might be the better pick, but my EDG is okay with Preston, Hosking and Young. No MID cover with trading Ford, so just gonna have faith Tatola can hit 40 and hopefully increased mins over origin.

I see BCT is coming around again, so might be a few of us taking the plunge.

Yeah he's an interesting left-field pick. Potentially underpriced from the injury game. I can't afford Ford to him in 1 though, and would leave me with 4 EDG and only 3 MIDs.
