Had to happen right? Music and TV shows were done.

I recently watched Jurassic World - that was alright, will never be as good as the first but I was happy with it.

    Favourite movies;
    Fight Club
    Braveheart
    The Departed
    Old School
    Beast From The Big East

3 out of those 4 are great. Braveheart is over hyped for me

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is right up there for me.

Went to The Scorch Trials the other night. Not bad for a sequel as the first Maze Runner was decent. Looking forward to Sicario in the next week or so hopefully.

Jurassic World is a bad movie. I can rant for 5 minutes about why its bad.

Warrior and Training Day are my favourite movies - If I watch Mad Max Fury Road another half dozen times it might gain entry into that exclusive club. Anything made by Nolan is also close to perfect.

Stay away from spoilers. Tremendous film on so many levels.

Yeah, Training Day was very good. I couldn't finish Fury Road, but I forgot to get into it being a Mad Max film mood.

    Movie Thread Giphy

    Excellent as well.

I enjoyed Fury Road heaps the first time watching it but couldn't sit through it the second time.

Yep. Also Glory, if you haven't seen it it's pretty powerful. Morgan Freeman and Matthew Broderick as well.

I thought Fury Road was madly over rated.
I didn't care about any of the characters except for Nick Hoult's.
The new Max didn't hold a candle to the real Max.

Saw Everest the other night too. NZ accents in that were terrible in both female actors (Knightly and Watson).

Jake and Josh stole the scenes they were in although the lead was a strong choice.
The whole thing just seemed overdone and lacking subtlety in key moments/points.

Damn was really looking forward to it. Hopefully I don't leave with the same impression as you.

Looking forward to seeing Sicario soon as well. Looks fucking great based on the trailer

Everest is still worth seeing but parts of it are really cringe and I just happened to fixate on them.
The movie itself is pretty intense and you've got to remember it is "based" on a true story and Hollywood has changed the story/characters a wee bit.

Beast - I thoroughly recommend "Everest: Beyond the Edge" which is a doco about Hillary and team summiting back in the day. Lots of interesting stuff in there.

Also recommend "Erebus: Operation Overdue" which is the harrowing story of the men sent to recover the bodies of the Erebus disaster.

Both of these are several years old but definitely worth checking out.

NZ accents are always terrible, even in real life...
