Say you get the next two rounds as the definite starter and then comes off the bench for the next two, he should have a very low BE for that first bench game and then probably a manageable one for the 2nd bench game.

So you could get 3 decent price rises and then can hold him for the 4th game before moving him in the last big bye for a one hit wonder?

Lot of talk about Cogger, anyone interested in Gamble?

Priced around 25, averages 38 at 5/8, and only one bye to come. Reckon he's decent value, but maybe too late in the season for a potential slow burn?

I guess it depends if he can hold a bench spot when Jurbo comes back. But in a perfect world, that's a decent scenario.

I think if he holds the spot (which is looking likely), it's a decent shout as a backup half.

I'm no linguist but phrases like 'it is hoped' and 'next couple of weeks' suggest his return is somewhat unknown. Signs you take fantasy too seriously: linguistic analysis

What projection is Fainu scoring is probably the question that answers whether his short timeframe is worth it

45 average makes 150k in 3 rounds (scored 47 in R13) but if you think he scores mid 30s probably not worth it

Basically, he's saying people down to single digit trades can't really be affording him for 3 weeks then offloading. People who have burnt their trades would more likely have to look for bargin options that can hang around all year if need be.

I have 13, so kinda happy to take the punt I think so I can see what happens next week with Origin selections.

We were discussing in our chat, it's basically getting the three MID's for next week. Outside of Hopgood and Matto (if he returns), it's slim pickings and if you don't go Fainu, you're going for a mid tier option (Elliot, Sip, JFH) and hoping they produce something. Fainu was hopefully filling that second spot and then Matto hopefully could fill that third spot next week. If you go Fainu and Matto doesn't retun next week, then it's picking the best option from those mid range guys.

Elliot though has the pedigree and a juicy price to take a punt if Fainu is too trappy.

And there's years of evidence where whatever is said should be taken with a grain of salt.

EG player will be out for a month.. next minute he's back playing a week later. Or the opposite.

Meanwhile wasn't Whitehead supposed to miss 6 weeks ? lol

    Not the worst shout.

Would prefer Cogger as you'd think he should be good for bulk KMs playing with Luai.

I saw that, didn't he take a suspension over a fine because his injury was going to be a few weeks longer? Straight back after suspension ends.

Yeah I feel like we've been here before. Jack Bird out for two weeks, back in the reserves this week. Take those ones with a grain of salt, take stuff like 'next couple of weeks' with an entire shaker. May as well just say 'we're not really sure but have to answer the question and tell you something'.

That's the sort of despairing laugh you hear from smokers outside a hospital.

    You ok dude?
