Hopgood & SJ are season keepers basically

The thinking is that DCE is 10 points undervalued at the moment, SJ is probably peaked. He also plays at least 1 less game with the bye which pulls his effective average down a few points (say expected 25 points difference with replacement player / 8 remaining games for 3 points less average). Hopgood also has a bye and picking a reduction in minutes in a full strength pack - he's been lucky with injuries to have had as many minutes as he has.

You're right though that those two could well be keepers and trading them out is a definite risk to bite me in the arse.

Hmm, I don't like the sound of that. Could be a better trade out than Horse, still with a view to getting back in.

    Thought this was funny too:

    NRL PHYSIO
    Need some help from @DrBradRobinson

@nrlphysio Is Shaun Johnson due to be ruled out for the Warriors this week? He has been named, however, I have read 1 or 2 statements stating this is the case. Does he have a niggling injury?

He obviously has better resources available to him than me, but my ankle tendon inflammation was 3-4 wks off any running.

Actually still has another bye too. Gah. Might not even get him back in. Yeo could be a better option.

Yeah I was already looking at not getting Haas back, but this seals it. Think would also sell if I owned.

There are enough MIDs within 3-4 pts average - JdB, Yeo, Horse, Hopgood - plus a few that might catch fire over a short run - Murray, Tino etc. - that I think it's an acceptable risk to go without him.

Then he’ll average 70 rest of the year. Sell at your own peril Twisted Evil

Fair enough to avoid buying him, but I think calling him a sell is a leap.

So far he's going to miss 1 game, that he would have been backing up from origin anyway

Obviously it would be preferable if he wasn't injured, but even with 8 trades coming, ditching premium scorers for a week or 2 off is how you end up limping home with no trades and 15 scorers

You're right of course. But it's also how you end up holding Nathan Brown 6 weeks for his two week injury.

This surprises me a bit. I think he's the premium MID with the best chance of going big even with limited minutes. Even with his bye round (and also owning Carrigan), I'm still planning to bring him when he comes back.

That's a decision that can be made in a couple of weeks though when we know he's over his injury and isn't being managed minutes wise. The last half a dozen trades are for injuries mostly, I'm sure to have one, and Haas could come back in then anyway.

The harder decision is for owners whether to sell or not now.

Haas is at 1.12 PPM this year, he has a few Origin backup games and blowouts which pulls his average down a bit. I think he's closer to a 65 average minute player than the 60 he's averaged this year, which puts him above a 70 average.
