Alright, I'm taking a punt on Will Skelton's cousin.

    Grant
    Haas, Horsburgh, jdb
    Preston, Fifita
    Cleary, Johnson
    Manu, Ramien
    Drinkwater, Bula, Ponga

    Hynes, Hopgood, Nikora, Graham

    NAS, Robson, Talau, Skelton

and that's my squad with four trades left. Payne Haas now the only player I've held since round 1.
(Goodbye, Ray Stone! I'll miss you the most!)

cheers bro both averillo & bula on a good run atm i'm not so worried with bula he's gone well this season apart from a few duds lately but looked back on it last week & averillo at fb is a different fantasy beast because he has the room to show his blistering pace & he doesn't get the room at ctr.

Without tries, Avo’s FB base is horrible.

I’ve got him as well and feel very lucky he’s scored what he did last two weeks

Garrick in this week and Avo off to the EMG’s feels much better

At this point I think I'm going for Cleary, by the following method, leaving me only 2 trades left (yikes)

    Robson to Cleary

    Manu to Timoko

VTW to a CTR or WFB under 388k

This leaves me 3 main candidates for the 3rd spot, would have to play them this week and then loop my 17th man spot between them and Sandon Smith (my team value isn't good)

1: Suaali'i. Kicks goals for the Chooks but the Chooks can't score to save their lives, and he's stuck outside a notorious ball hog in Manu

2: Averillo. Decent at fullback and aside from this week's matchup, his draw is actually not bad. Potential risk to job security though.

3: Kris. Not a good NRL player but he's at least safe at fullback with Savage injured again, and the Raiders draw is very good, so hopefully he'd junk it up in the run home.

Thoughts on what to do here? Is all this worth it for Cleary or should I just let Cleary go and try to get Trell next week instead.

Two trades left is not a lot.
Is there no way you can get Cleary in without using three trades? Even if it leaves you're squad a little weaker, it gives you more wiggle room down the track.
Two trades might not even cover one week of carnage.

There is a way to theoretically get Cleary in one trade by going Robson and VTW to Cleary and Skelton, however I don't trust Skelton to stay in the team, even for this week (JAC is in the reserves so could push him out right away)

I would be forced to play Skelton this week and then again for any week that any of my starting back 5 miss (Manu, Lem, Garrick, Ponga, Edwards)

Can't believe Skelton didn't get DPP, Garrick getting it is ridiculous - No Bateman is annoying too, but not end of the world

Someone mentioned Haas of the Titans variety, I thought it was known he was ahead of Stimson in the pecking order? That's what a few folks said here anyway

And someone asked about Skelton job security, perhaps if JAC is back Skelton will get dropped, but also Skelton might be preferred to Alamoti now so perhaps Skelton into CTR if JAC is back

This is the first week all season he’s started when both are healthy, I’m pretty sure it was a while back that people were saying Klese might be preferred because Stimson switched to Fifita’s side one week he wasn’t available a while back, but since then there had been no more evidence that Stimson wasn’t the glued in starting edge until this TLT.

Sounds better than using the three trades though to me

Edit didnt see that youd have to play him.

Yeah that's the issue, I need a playing CTR or WFB this week (since Garrick got CTR it can be either one but there's no WFB cheap enough other than Wishart who's worse than a red dot)

    Guth to Kiraz
Harris to Fifita (maybe trade preston instead tho)
    NAS to Cleary
VTW to Skelton (or someone else extremely cheap)

Leaves 6 trades and basically zero bank

    Grant
    Haas Carrigan Horsbrah
    Fifita Bateman
    Hynes Cleary
    Manu Ramien
    Tedesco Drinkwater Ponga
    R: DCE SJ Hopgood Preston
E: Kiraz Hands Skelton LEMU (bye)

Might actually keep Harris, as better mid coverage

    Looks good tho

Edit didnt realise dogs have a bye coming up as well. Yeah i think ill keep harris for now and flick Preston. Its been fun lad

Warriors have a bye next week as well

Would Manu to Kiraz or similar afford Robson to Cleary?

Means holding VTW a week but not the worst thing in the world. Who knows what happens in a weeks time

Im ok with that, just originally thought preston was getting an extra game than Harris.

Harris and SJ on bye the same week isnt ideal but i think i can cover that ok between two of ramien/kiraz/hands/skelts coming in via some dirty dirty looping

Manu to Kiraz would raise enough money, though it would not fix my lack of centres, as pre-trades, Manu is my only available centre.

We need some training footage of Cleary slotting goals... if he's GK I'd preferentially captain him

So like many others here I need a dirt cheap cash out. The 2 standing out after tlt are Colq and Skelt.

    Which are we going?

True but coming off hamstring injury

Way worse captaining him if he scores a 40 compared to not captaining
