Dragons had R1 bye last season and there were some people that carried a Jack Bird or Sloan into R2. Might be a Tiger or 2 worth similar treatment.

I think of it more as if someone crashes and burns rd 1 the tigers will be the get out of jail card - whether its Fainu, alaimalo or someone else there should be one cashie available

i think i read somewhere big tino could be in the front row this year so if hasler likes an 80 min lock then 1 of randall, clark, liu, palasia could be a great buy.
also fifita & fermor probably starting edges & both are big min players where does this leave k. haas & they probably won't have an edge on the bench unless he plays in middle rotation but this is well covered.

I think I read somewhere that fifita is out for an extended spell - perhaps only returning mid year -

I did this - carried both Bird (bye) and Walsh (didn't play round 1) during round 1 and played all the cheapies instead. It did cost me that week but paid off big time afterwards.

What do we think about Sezer I rated him watching him play but I looked at his stats & they weren't that flash...but that was 2019 which is a long time ago so he's much more experienced now...i don't watch esl so no idea if he's improved enough to succeed again in the nrl.

The issue with sezer is the bye rd 1 & he's 477k which you could use on your 17. imo watch him play rd 2 then decide

Latu Fainu an easy one at 230k to start with in EMG and use as R1 loop. Will get a start at some stage, as soon as R2

Only 9 games for the Workers last year so he’s pretty green. Sezer/Sullivan seems pretty certain at least to start with and you’d think they’d at least get a decent run of it

Gives me a 2023 Oloapu vibe where he’ll get a chance and make money before you know it. Sullivan is also made of glass and bog average

Do you usually start the year with a loop option? Surely cash gen is more important.

No, the bye every round has only been relevant since last year. A few started with Sloan, BMM, Bird, Walsh etc who missed R1 to save a trade

Or you start with a shit choice like HSS or Talau who actually lose money or stagnate, then waste a trade getting them out

Starting with Fainu saves a trade bringing him in and he doesn’t lose money. Risk he doesn’t start sure but that’s the logic. Not saying I’m 100% starting with him, it’s just an option

The trouble with this is the un-mediocre fancy CTR/WFBs also cause you more expensive pain. I for one am leaning towards choosing the cheap CTR/WFBs who make 300k just for something different

Issue is if he doesn’t get a go til round 7/8 then you have a guy sitting there as a loop option but not making money at all.
