Apparently both Lodge and Sipley miss the start of the season. Have just been looking at the Silvertails forum and they are expecting that with that and Keppie moving on, they will need Jurbo in the prop rotation, likely opening up a spot for Brown at lock. Its a good sign that he was in the scrimmage for the top team.

Would expect round 1 line up to be something like:
    8. Paseka
    9. Croker
    10. Jurbo
    11. Olakau'atu
    12. Schuster
    13. Brown

    14. GCKT
    15. Bullemor
    16. Waddell or Burbo
    17. Aloiai

I can’t take this seriously, where on earth is Sipley?

Captain us to the NSW Cup premiership last year. I was going bonkas there to see it with the other 8000 or so.

    Munro scored the winning try

I think Bullemor’s been really good last couple of years. Manly have decent depth this year for the first time in a decade it seems; not sure what MattNZ is on about. Matt Lodge to come back soon as well. Also, Seibold rubbished all the Schuster talk recently and said he’s confident he’ll be on the plane; worst case scenario he misses a week in all likelihood. Have you got the Nathan Brown article?
If Schuster doesn’t fly over and Burbo starts I’ll be tempted to run him and Penis in the centres round 1 and carry Kris as a looper and be my other centre round 2 pushing Burbo to 20/21st man

I forgot about Lodge tbh, when's he back? Not saying that Brown will be at 13, just a chance for the bench out of those "cast offs" that Matt posted. Definitely seen a few NBrown house destruction quotes floating around for whatever that's worth.

I’m assuming Brown is not top 30 yet which is why he’s not available yet? Wonder what they’d price him at…..

$2272k. Really struggling to fit him and Cleary in tbh.

Yep, it says when they were missing Sipley at Prop at the start of last season, they moved Jurbo there. Sounds a familiar situation this year.

Its meaningless though. #10 or #13, he was an ~80 min player all year. And in all likelihood is again this year

Sipley suffered a pec tear in early December.
Recovery time is 10-14 weeks with round 1 being 12 weeks away from the time of injury.

Its not meaningless for whether they play a lock or a prop in the starting team.

The difference is whether Jake plays as a trundling middle forward for 80 minutes with 10 on his back or does the same with 13 on his back. Between them, DCE and Tommy Turbo take up most of the first receiver ball-handling for Manly that Murray/Radley-type locks do anyway, whoever is in the 13. All their locks are props.

He is 6'9", gets compared more with NAS. I'll be interested to see which of Willison and him have the motor to play big minutes.

My current pick for the next Haas is Sam Hughes, same height, just 4kg lighter and has the huge motor for big minutes.

There isn't a next Haas. Haas is a generational prospect and might end up as the best front rower to ever walk the earth. Hughes is a reserve grader who had a few good training sessions. Hughes might end up a good fantasy option but he isn't fit to lace Haas's boots

Burbo sucks at rugby league. If his name was Ben Smith he wouldn't even make the top 30 squad

Intruiging random name to throw in. Definitely tall criteria met.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who get's triggered everytime someone describes some rookie as "the next..." [Haas, Fifita, Meninga, Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk, Tedesco... you get the picture]
