He's safe enough, he earnt the spot last year. Mariner is basicaly first in line backup, but if Broncos are going ok and Arthars is doing a reasonable job, he keeps the spot.

Burbo only plays 1 week on the EDG.

Who are your 3 CTRs (1 for cover), gun to head, week 1?

    Is it Penis/Mariner/Kris?

It'd be Kris and Penisini for me, and for the 3rd one I would be praying that Tesi Niu gets in ahead of Averillo for left centre (and then gets given dual because of that)

I know this is just a hypothetical if all the other option are unavailable, but Kris won't be around round 1 either.

Couple of people have mentioned him

Why is ther not alot of chat about Suaalii as a legitimate option as CTR/WFB. Finished the season playing winger for the last 6 games. Likely start there with Dom Young injury. Averaged 50 priced at 38. Was kicking goals whilst Walker was back in the team.

    What am I missing.

Rumours that Suaalii will actually be dropped for Billy Smith. Won't know for sure either way until Dom young is back. Trent Robinson did say it was good to have 6 quality back 5 players and that he could play any of them and they might rotate

Also I think prevailing attitude is that Sam Walker will kick this year (he took all the kicks in the first trial)

Didn’t kick goals in trial ahead of Walker (would lose 8 points on that average)

Also massive jump in winger average from 2022 (36)

Yes I am aware Kris is not available R1, the idea would be to run Penisini and Niu R1 and hold Kris as cover.

My current plan is Burbo + Strange centres with Kris ready to go for R2

Any thoughts on Taumalolo? Wasn't a rumour earlier in the year that he will have a bigger role this season. If a guy like Carty can return to form, a genuine wrecking ball with amazing fitness like Lolo, should be able to as well.

One thing I noticed with Blore was he was quite lazy on kick chase. Was jogging really slowly to shutdown player

Not sure if Bellamy would be giving that a tick of approval

Storm fans seem to prefer Joe Chan based on trial performance, who is not a WFB, but is cheap if he gets the spot

I think there has been a story about Taumalolo unleashing an offload every year for the past 5 year.

Wouldn't surprise me if he was the chief driver of "training down the house" becoming a pre-season meme

I fell for this last year and while it isn't impossible he returns with a bigger role this season, it feels more likely he will be getting a smaller role (and hoping for more impact) as time goes by.

As with every other Fanatic. Waiting on TLT to make a final call on the variety of cheap cows (of the Green Machine variety) to stick with and which ones to dump.

Tom Gilbert confirmed out for the season.

Hard to ignore Flegler even though he's a bit of a dick.

Unsung hero Corey Jensen is set to partner Payne Haas in Brisbane’s front row for Las Vegas after a bumper pre-season in which he has smashed records to become the Broncos’ strongest man. (Peter Badel)
