Though I’ve wondered why our community team always does well (top 1%) but doesn’t quite get that next tier overall. Probably because it’s not quite unique enough to stand out. The key is finding which one or two unique players are the right ones…
You dont get the level of flexibility needed, like late outs and the ability to make spur of the moment decisions like bringing in Hosking when named to start, or perfectly optimise looping decisions.
You are also deciding everything tactically week to week, without the overall strategic decision making that an individual can have, with a game plan of where the team is heading.
Group think also tends to lead to risk averse decisions and sometimes winning takes calculated risks.
