If not across the board, I feel like I'll be targeting those matches for my gun picks. They were completely different matches, in every way, compared to the other three we've seen so far. I will make a diary entry about this to re-read next year.

Anyone else already got a blueprint for starting 2025 NRL Fantasy etched in stone? Pick the fuck out of the Vegas players and clean up afterwards is where my head is at.

Paraphrasing Bellamy on Jackie "Middle is probably his best spot, looked alright with ball in hand, but probably needed him to be a bit more active".

That sounds a lot like - probably not starting EDG next week.

My blueprint for 2025 is don't bother spending more than a few hours on a team, it really doesn't matter. Every year I spend a while "optimising" but never come out of the gates firing. Mid-season trades are my strong point.

Yeah that's the vibe I got. Hopefully it's Bradley and not Blore, 'cos I dunno where to find the cash for both Blore and May.

Maybe against the majority view but I've really enjoyed this split week opening. Getting to set team spread over two weekends

I'm going to be really tempted to try to sort out building team value more quickly with 2 trades this week.
Something like dumping Chan and Piakura, to bring in Henry and Saifiti or similar.
Should hopefully just leave Strange as the only cheapie that won't be generating much cash early.
Might leave a few points on the table in the first few rounds, but generating lots of extra cash should more than make up for it longer term.

Unlike a lot of people ive still got 7 to play.
495/10C, 3 of my Keepers to come too so 900 still on the cards if everything goes to plan (probably not tho)

Missed all the football, was out on the beers for a mates birthday.
Checked the scores at some point and saw May and Tohu were doing well, had a quick chuckle thinking how many posts Matt would have made about it. Quick scroll to get up to date did not disappoint lol.
Since matt and i are picking the same team to start the year, i am lucky enough to have may and tohu for round 1 as well. Not sure if i get as many points though for not posting as hard as possible about it.
Matt you have to bring in Kini since i have him and its agreed.
Anyway, this is just a fun post, its meant as a drunken high five for lols, not an attack.
Ps wtf happened to mcinnes ?? I fluked myself into starting HOSKGOD instead..
634/12c
All downhill from here i reckon

And I'd run both Salmon and Kini over Flano mate.

I wanna know who decided 4 points for an OFH was a good idea (one point less than a try assist btw). Soni Luki with 20 points off them alone is a joke

Kini came in my team earlier. Going to focus really hard on cash generation and dumping dead spots.
Also means I am playing him over Levi's 31.
Now 567/11C.

Couple of last thoughts on my team as it is now before I send my attention elsewhere;
Grant - disappointing but I'm going to chalk it up to playing Panthers and start afresh next week.
Smithies - happy times.
Haas (c) - happy times.
Sitili - I'm not going to be able to afford anyone I want next week anyway, so I hope he's fit and we can hit reset on this chap too.
Wong - one of the better performers in my team so far, for what that's worth.
Piakura - shared sadness. Another reset.
Cleary - the absolute most fucking ridiculous scoring I've seen in my relatively short Fantasy career yet. I obviously own him and want to see him score as much as possible, but it is madness, and as others noted, completely contrary to other scoring formats.
Hynes - super disappointing again considering the price. But now that Cleary's played and scored like he did, I'm curious why Hynes didn't get the same treatment. I have shitty thoughts in my head and picking Hynes as well as Cleary was part "I hope they both kill it" and part "If Hynes really flops I can use that cash to fix absolutely any problem I might have in R2." But I won't do the latter. Upcoming draw way to tasty to ignore.
Burbo - a giant amongst elves.
Strange - disappointing score, but passed the eye test. Really hoping he can add at least some type of KM to his game.
Ponga - apart from one play looked well below par in an even worse looking team. In a sea of initial anger I wondered if I use him to fix up my R1 errors, but I won't. Hoping he bounces back quick.
Pappy - scored poorly against Panthers, like every other fullback in the game does. Zero concerns about him. I don't like Storm as a team, but I like Pappy and I hope he stays fit for the season and if he does I have absolutely no doubt he'll be putting up worthwhile Fantasy scores.
Tuaupiki - bit of a punt, but outscored Ponga and Pappy, lol. I actually really liked watching him play. I hope he gets a few weeks, but a nervous week to week proposition, undoubtedly. He is definitely small, but there have been excellent smaller fullbacks throughout the years.
Chan - all fine and dandy to say in hindsight, but really irritated at myself for putting him in my 17 over Flanno or even Hughes. I have Cotric and Levi in my EMG (Levi looking okay for now) and Chan is by far my biggest concern so far. Hoping he'll have better weeks against not the Panthers. But hoping he's picked again is main short term concern. Has a 64min back rower ever actually scored as low as 11 in Fantasy history? Hard to fathom how shit/absent he was.
Kini, Hutch and Salmon to go with Hughes and Flanno in reserves. My score will be shit - this is pre-determined - but I don't really know how to feel about the team as a whole so far. As it stands, not really seeing any way to pivot to players I might want next week without dumping "guns," which I'd rather avoid. I do still have 5 players left, but all valued at absolutely nothing should one of them be as shit as Chan. Interesting week ahead.
