If Chan got the 11, it's because Bellamy believes he can do a job, doubt one game completely changes his opinion on everything he's seen in the preseason.

Also Chan got the most TB's for the Storm - (pity they're not still worth 3 points each) - we all know how much Craig focuses of players that can generate Fantasy points

Great points from both of you. Well put Tiger and Rhino.

As I said, Chan looked good. I don't think he will be going anywhere and will be staying in my team for the foresable future.

Its the hardest thing about week 1 trades.

Its the best opportunity to fix up errors in your round 1 team. But its also a good opportunity to create further errors by trading out solid picks who just had an off week to start the season. Or trade in guys who just fluked themselves a one-off high score.

If we could easily tell the difference we'd all win Fantasy every year

I would quite happily settle for just knowing the difference in one year - then I could retire (from trying at fantasy, not because of the prize money obviously)

Just listening to the post match interviews. The only one worth listening to so far is the Eels.

When asked about offloads, Arthur says thats how we like to play. Could be a really good sign for Carty, who had 6 of them this round. Will be low 700k range this week, with a BE around 7. Another big game and his BE goes negative.

Also says he wants to spread the minutes around the forwards. Thinks Moses will be ok.

This years SJ, trade him in ASAP. Must have!!!

I hate to say it, as I chose SOS instead of Fog-god, but the way the Raiders team is set-up, he will be kicking 800m (ave) every freakin game. Nearly all TAs will go his way too.
    Absolute mid-cow > sub-gun territory.
I'm looking at swallowing my pride and switching SOS to him ASAP.

Surely decent value in Liddle if the coach is going to give him >60 mins.
He's a priority in for me.

Man, I didn't think Chan was that bad at all from a playing perspective. Most of his missed tackles were inconsequential. I have not seen any Storm fans complaining about his performance outside of a Fantasy viewpoint.

rhinoceroo wrote:Chan could certainly have looked for the ball more, but he was a rookie second row defending next to a rookie half against the best edge attack (Cleary/Martin/Tago) in the game and they kept the three-time premiers completely scoreless. If Bellamy drops him after that, he's a pretty fucking harsh marker.*

(*yeah, I know Craig Bellamy probably is a ridiculously harsh marker)

This was my thinking too. Would be a bit of a dick move and a confidence hit to demote him to the bench after one game where they got the result. Chan had a couple of good runs too. Might actually be better from the bench really but Bellamy picked him and he's trained there so surely he gets a couple more cracks in the same jumper.

I think that's a good trade, but would be interested to see whether Strange gets at least a bit more ball as he gets used to the NRL. And 800km is an outlier high for *teams* kicking let alone individuals, he's not going to be getting that weekly even with 100% of kicking.

Well. That was my worst round 1 in about 20 years of playing. 684 and about 65k overall. Wow.

And the funny thing is, my team didn’t really seem THAT bad….
