In general I think this policy works more often than it fails.

But in this case it seems pretty clear Terrell is a fantasy gun who will get decent minutes, so he's almost certainly a trade in this week.

One of the rules about "fun" fantasy is that it is always more fun to sit there watching a guy rack up the points than it is to hide behind the couch every time he gets the ball because you don't own him and he's about to go massive.

Agree, had a look at him when someone brought him up pre-season (MTVB?) but was wary of the 'Tino' or 'Joey Tapine' effect plus the fact I already had three questionable Roosters forwards.

Watching him play the last couple of rounds shows that he will rack up points consistently whenever he is given a run.

Yes, I think if you take the back end of last year combined with what we have seen over the last few weeks he is still a very decent buy.

I'll be jumping on a week (two?) late as I wanted to give my rabble an extra week to redeem themselves.....it was a mistake.

    When I was doing a little analysis last week to reinforce myself with a bit of confirmational bias, I got these lovely numbers (updated to include last weeks score);

    Terrell May
    2023 - 2024

    All Matches
    37.9mins for a 42.1 average @1.11PPM (19G)

Games over 30 minutes (seems unlikely he'd play less than that)
    44.1mins for a 49.6 average @1.13PPM (13G)

Since round 22 last year (the first 40+ minute game, excluding R23 for "justifiable circumstantial reasons")
    49.2mins for a 57.9 average @1.18PPM (9G)

The crazy thing is that his PPM trends up with more minutes - that's not typical for middles...

I want to see 55 minutes at 1.23PPM for a 67.6 Payne-Who? average (this is purely fantastical)

    TLT from hell:

    - Kini not named
    - Haas out
    - Chan in #18
    - Salmon to bench, Hughes to reserves

This week, my sell list is long, and my buy list is long..

    Potential buys:
Galvin - almost certainly my number 1 trade in. Terrible team but passes the 1 week eye test with flying colours, and enables funds.
Curran - i think he's good for pretty much 60 mins every week and probably starts soon.
Lussick - probably an 80 min player and if so, a solid scorer. a bit of a dull pick though.
Finefeuaki - bit of a risky pick but i like the way he plays.

I think I have to go with one cow and one solid scorer this week.

I could probably squeeze Fog in, depending on who I trade. Think I might have been wrong about his scoring potential. Looking like a 50+ scorer.

I think NAS would come back through the middle. Chan has played both games and both games they've won. He was solid last week and played 80 at least (HIA's or not). I am really really hoping the edge role is his now to lose.

Are you including his finals stats in there

56 points in 54 minutes against the Sharks
84 points in 56 minutes against the Storm

On PPM trending up with more minutes.
After Vegas Robinson said he was due for a rest but was playing too well. If that applies as a general rule (don't sub off players when they are doing well) , then the better he is playing, the more minute he gets, so would sort of explain it.

I think Campbell is a week away yet and Hughes should be OK. May even start with Farmer out. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hughes go to lock at some point though and Salmon to bench....or out.

I'm mad that Luki broke himself and now I have to trade him out instead of McInnes. Probably something like Luki and Kini to JC and Galvin for me. Only because I need a WFB to play 17. Otherwise, would love to be looking at all of Fainu, Fini, Koro, Lussick, Mann, Curran, etc etc. Actually as I write this McInnes only has a 50 BE? I thought it would be much worse, ah well.

Also I like Matt's posts. Its good to have a different view from everyone else and break a bit of group think, sometimes it makes me go look back into options I didn't consider enough. I like the banter too usually. If you don't like someone or what someone posts, just ignore it and keep going.

Having just brought him in, I feel pretty good about the selection, nothing changed in terms of eye test (albeit more points would've been nice).
The Eels showed a real weakness on their left edge early, and the Panthers did what they do and exploited it ruthlessly with Tago.
Getting some CTR/WFB DPP was important to me, hence the late decision to pivot from Turbo.

Just a gut feeling, but I have a suspicion that Gagai might not be the only 50 point centre this year; with Taytay, Tago, Cobbo and possibly Wighton to join him.

Last week I viewed Taylan as a more expensive version of Kiraz - good base stats - can offload, handy DPP, but you're paying an extra $70k for a bit more upside being a better player in a top 4 team (vs bottom 4) - not much of a value buy, but could be a little?

Thanks mate I think I'm sold

Yeah, that's the first thing that stood out for me last week. He doesn't need to start or huge minutes to average 45-50. Just seems like the kind of player that will keep punching out solid scores every week, he will cop the eventual 35 minutes for 39 points though but such is life for a bench prop.

I certainly did include those finals stats

I guess it's probably that 84 pointer that moves the PPM needle a bit
Actually, if I drop it out it shifts all the PPM's to 1.08 (40min), 1.09 (47min) and 1.13 (55min), so still ascending with higher minutes
