of the 6 trades I've made this season, only one has been a dud. Flanagan to Lussick.
Lussick cost more and has scored less in the 2 weeks since the trade.
Also traded in Talagi, which worked as a one off, but longer term may be suspect.
Dumping Cleary may or may not pay off, but at least I have a huge bankroll to fix things up for next week.

These lists have to stop right now.Reklaw wrote:
This. He's cheap enough that ill be holding, may even play him over Burbo. Hell average out in the 30s. Surely you have other losers to go? Lussick? Smithies? Toops? Burbo? Salmon? Levi (prob gets a stay of execution)?
On another note, I captained Hoppo after rubbishing someone elses play of captaining McInnes. Felt bad. Good job whoever that was, karma almost kicked me in the nuts when Hoppo got dropped to the bench - was fuming

Smithies and Lussick to Fogarty and Brown is mighty tempting when lockout lifts.
Would leave me with 6 Halves though with Hutchinson and Flanagan looking less like trade outs each week.

With the Preston injury is there another cheap centre option about to appear?
Kautoga 250k
been 18th man already this year and whilst Curran is there it seems he is more valuable in the middle for them.

Team's looking good! But you don't consider Salmon a shitto? He's close to the top of my shitto pile
Has scored fine when not moved to CTR for JAC getting injured in 2 games (34 average, which is fine for his price). At lock he scores well and getting decent minutes. Who do you upgrade him to in his position in that price range that is going to make more cash? Already have Chan, Fine needs a try to get out of the 20s, Piakura injured.

I'm the same re halves in vsdt I have cleary, fogarty, plath & galvin so i have no choice but to either sell 1 of the outs.

In VSDT you can get an AE from any position, so if you trust your weakest scoring player more than you trust spending a trade, you can just run with 1 half for a week.
edit: Probably 2 weeks with only 1 half though, so maybe a trade should be spent

If we get Salmon EDG and Hughes starting this week I’ll thank my lucky stars. Sadly I don’t see it happening.

Eels wont be playing the mighty Tigers every week.

Fantasy royalty, must be the only player with a negative career average

Getting Lussick instead of Galvin last week has had such a snowball effect.
After trades this week it will have cost at least 100k, 60ish points and a trade, plus the opportunity cost of being behind in "tempo" for grabbing good options.
I didn't bring in KPP this week in order to grab a WFB to field 17 (Kiraz over Gutho because I valued the DPP and bye schedule but that's looking like being wrong too). Which means I probably need to grab KPP next week which means I can't evict a different shitto this week etc etc . . .
That said Lussick looked like a similar option the week before, potential semi-keeper 80 min hooker for 500k - that's great! So I don't think it was a bad trade at the time but will have quite a big effect on the outcome of the season.

Feel for those that brought in Lussick a couple of weeks ago. For those that started with him at least it’s one trade to get rid of him and never worry again

Think I'm a draft player this year. 4/4 for 600+ scores and a 675 this week

Just on Lussick (and yes I fell for it).
I think this situation backs up the old 'gut feel' thing and the fact that if the historical evidence says players are pedestrian scorers then they will probably end up being pedestrian scorers regardless of changed roles or increased minutes.
This seems to be particularly applicable in the Eels forward pack.
I was unenthusiastic on Lussick (because he is Lussick rather than any other reason) but was also nervous about having Bsmith as my only HKR. The 80 minute thing convinced me to put this aside in a moment of weakness but the reality is he is still Lussick and Brad Arthur is still Brad Arthur.
The moral is stay strong or something.
