If we knew Hynes was missing Origin I'd be a little more tempted but will screw my bye planning if they both play for NSW and don't back up a couple of times.

On top of that I can't be bothered with the captaincy headache.

I thought about it for a moment, as an early adopter of both last year it helped combat missing SJ for 600k, but cash gen was also a bit quicker thanks to the cheapies and midrangers smashing it. This year has been more of a struggle, so I'd rather spread the cash around upgrading the midrangers to fallen guns. Still need a decent basement price cashie to appear too. Thought about Weekes, but doesn't really help on Strange's bye. If Jye Gray was in the halves instead of Ilias or the other bloke, or at least had WFB, he'd be more appealing. Maybe Knights come through with someone, but if it's Pryce he's already 400k.

Toohey reckons Pryce isn’t anywhere near ready.

Telegraph reckons Armstrong is the front runner (230k)

I really want Walsh in this week, but it would mean either Kiraz or Curran out. Feels like a bad idea when dogs play 13 and 16...

Cheers mate. Some hope then. Probably end up being Gagai with Lucas at CTR for minimal disruption and a more experienced line-up.

Feels quite stopgap for 3 months cover though - surely they bring in a genuine FB for that long.

    That’s odd.

Kris had near identical stats in this week and last week.

17 tackles, 2 tbs, 1 missed tackle and 163 running metres

Yeah could be right mate, Armstrong might be a go'er. Was thinking maybe they have a son of legend just hiding somewhere, so I'll assume that's Neil or Louis' son Cool

The halfback spot seems to be one of the easiest spots to cover this year over the byes with cheapies like Strange, Galvin, Gray, Weekes etc. Add Plath, Ikat and DBrown to the mix and there is plenty of players that can fill in for both Cleary & Hynes. I'm happy to run with the combo until origin. I've got enough players for rd13 already, so should be pretty good until rd16 at least. Also the Panthers often play the late game after Origin, so that increase the likelihood of Cleary backing up

I wouldn't be surprised if the Knights continue with Gamble at FB and Hastings/Cogger as the halves

Has a (4) on the planner so I’m assuming that means 4 days after origin?

I guess so, every game following origin is on Sunday for the Panthers... I guess it's perks for the premiers

Why did Edwards come off at the end? Thinking about Ponga to Edwards for early bye schedule.

Lower leg injury, might have been precautionary, no word on it.

I doubt it ever on the cards but I wonder if the cowboys would entertain the idea of Chester 1 Drinkwater 6 and Deardon 7

    Yeah good point.

Bateman might be the better option for another 10k

If you want EDG value there’s options like Bateman and Nikora (2019 throwback)

But Sorensen has MID DPP which is useful for bye period
