Have there been any updates on the Fogarty and Ponga injuries?

I have them both in draft, so I need to know when/if they will be back and if it's worth hanging onto them.

Nah mate, punishment disproportionate to the offence. He took the punishment at the time but was humiliated in front of his peer and the kid had to be helped home.

Teammates were uncomfortable participating and it actually undermines the whole 'driving standards' thing and undermines the authority of the coaching team.

This was a meathead strength coach thinking he was in the army and not backing down.

Regardless of whether or not you think it was fair it definitely won't be seen as such in court.

i remember in under 15's we got thrashed & were made to do 15 400 metre sprints at the end of training on the tuesday....i don't think anyone sued the club because we all knew we deserved it for playing like a bunch of pussies...we were not a good team but boy were we fit lol

What's the consensus on Armstrong? I saw someone allude to it earlier, but did Barry Toohey have something to say about his job security? Sorry if this has been discussed ad nauseam

You did it as a team.

He was humiliated in front of his team

He was 'late' to a strapping session he didn't need and was on time for the actual wrestle session.

And that's totally fair - sounds like good coaching.

But look, once the below goes on the court record then the doggies are going to lose to the tune of a full nrl career - around 4-6 million, plus costs, plus support/rehab costs.

Touma said things like “Don’t let him up. If he’s down, jump on him straight away!”

I mean, that's it. That's the case. Topine's lawyers have put the whole shebang in, from physical injury, psychological injury and deprivation of liberty - which opens the club up to a huge range of penalties. And they'll win.

It's a workplace, and Touma, Ciraldo, Gould and all are going to get their arses handed to them to the tune of millions.

Call me soft, but to me, if you think you have to damage someone your supposed to be helping to send a message, then you’re sending the wrong message, isn’t the Storm’s ‘late punishment’ just bleaching their hair? Bit embarrassing but ultimately harmless and yet they don’t seem to have a problem with their players holding themselves to high standards.

@Loomer It appears Benji rates Fainu highly and has moved Bateman to lock to accommodate him starting. Personally he has looked our most dangerous forward in attack. We tried Bateman at lock a few times last year without success, including the 74-0 drubbing. Hopefully this time is different? I think the thing most likely to bring him undone though is himself. Hes a real hot head and Benji has him toned down for now but i can see him doing something stupid and screwing this opportunity. I hope not, but being a wests tigers supporter I am also forced to be a pessimist.

I'm sorry mate - I didn't mean for this to become a 'soft cocks' vs 'duty of care' discussion!

I was just amazed at the bulldogs lawyers not making their client aware of the strict legal liability around workplace safety. Or amazed that their client didn't listen.
