Yeah, it's odd. And it still begs the question what on earth is Kini doing on the bench?

It will be fair to assume there will be some shenanigans involving Verrills, Randall, Brimson & Kini during the game

Ahh, get ya.....I'm sure they can work out a compromise that doesn't involve some dude getting brain damaged every couple of weeks. There has been some pretty emotional responses to it even getting talked about.

My back fence is only about 12 meters to the back deck. Could probably get a kick off in but couldn't build up much of a head of steam on the return even if you pushed off it. Maybe make fields 12 metres square?

Why do the podcasts and Jamie Brown on YT etc keep saying 3 games for DPP myth? It was 4 games named in the spot and hasn't been that way for what 6-7 years now and now seems to be arbitrary decision by whoever sets them.

Yeah, it's pretty arbitrary now. I guess they are using the old rules as a guideline....maybe

It used to feel like teams were picked more on form. Or I might be sounding my age.

I think so too. Much harder to exit the rep teams than get in these days

Which I get for a club side, or the Australian cricket team where they play together 9-10 months a year.

But there are only 3 Origin games per year with a 10 day lead-in for each. It should be based on the 17 best players you think can do that job right in that moment. Basically All-Stars with some consideration of role/fit. Incumbency should be worth zero. Careers are too short to deny a guy a chance for his state for another year because someone else "earned" loyalty and extra time in the team for being good 3-5 years ago, then deny them again the next year on made up narratives about "not enough mongrel", "not a big game player" etc. Then the next year they are injured or past their peak and that's it.

Hot take - instead of players going to other clubs to win a comp, maybe be better at your current club. Just seems like real weak vibes.

Also after last two posts, will be shaking fist angrily at cloud on the hour. If anyone wants to come watch.
