I’m calling it now Moses will come in for Hynes. Hynes worse goes to 18th man or out of the 18 altogether

From the QLD Team doctor -
Dr Matt Hislop
@drmatthislop
Update on Reece Walsh- he had Category 1 symptoms on the field, brief loss consciousness, tonic posture. This meant definite concussion and he was never returning to play. Thankfully though he seemed to recover quickly and passed his SCAT 6 assessment in the change room.

So he technically failed a HIA but passed his SCAT 6. He will now follow NRL concussion protocols and be looked after tonight and reviewed in 48 hours. Will miss minimum 11 days. Hope that clears up any confusion that he ‘passed’ a HIA.

If there's anything I love more than NSW losing, it's the vicious infighting that follows a loss
No "you're ok mate, we believe in you"
No "it's a tough game and you'll bounce back"
No "bad luck happens, but we chose you for a reason"
It's straight to who to blame and who to drop.
NSW just don't get Origin

QLD were calling Origin dead when they lost 3 in a row. Sit down.
It's all very easy to sit back and play holier than thou when you win. QLD do the exact same thing and then thump their chest about Origin spirit BS

No it's not like that.
NSW were the better team for most of last series. And they changed most of their players.
They were the better team for large chunks of tonight, and there's going to be huge pressure for more changes.
Does that help Hynes, Robson, Young or McInnes feel confident supported and secure? No it means they can't trust their fans, coach or colleagues

For the "we chose you for a reason" bit, that reason was most likely injury for at least a few guys. I'm very sure Moses and Murray would have been in ahead of Hynes and Hudson Young if they'd been fit, and Teddy only played because Edwards got injured in camp. Dropping those three guys is not really a knee jerk reaction.
That said, as a neutral Victorian, the NSW media infighting is indeed hilarious and I love it.

TRELL TIME: Joey Suaalii will be charged. It was a send-off. He won’t be there for Origin II
And you know what that (hopefully) means — come on down, Trell Mit
Can play wing outside Lomax I guess

Re: NRL Fantasy 2024 Part 47 - Origin time
I mean look at this dumb shit
you think a guy that gets knocked out shouldn’t do a cognitive test because he can’t get back on the field?
Like imagine tweeting “So player passes ACL test but doesn’t come back… why bother giving him the test?” People would think you’re a moron because obviously the knee is still some level of fucked
Same deal here. They were just checking how fucked he was at that moment in time. Good news he wasn’t but the HIA is failed when you’re down for the count.
So... Walsh passes HIA but isn't allowed back on anyway.... why bother giving him the test??? pic.twitter.com/nTXochXrWA

Credit where due Lomax was very good tonight one of the Blues best very strong he deserves to hold his spot for game 2. I wasn’t sure he was up to origin level but he showed he is when he is focussed.robelgordo wrote:

I’m now leaning to holding Hynes if his calf is all ok. Fifita looking like a must.
Very tricky this round I might have to end up holding Hughes actually as he’s a green dot and was playing 35mins previous 6 weeks prior. Chances are he goes back to scores of low 30’s. And he’s also a round 16 middle. Gould said one stint last week was a freshen up.
I have Teddy, Aitken, Plath, Weekes, Strange, Kris all on bye and I own Armstrong, Galvin who could both be out and I own Hynes, Cotter and Grant on top of that
Now leaning to selling Kris and Strange and likely Cotter as well! Then will have to see if Armstrong is out what I do as I might punt him over Hughes. Either way my head hurts!
Kris to Twal locked in
Strange to Wighton
Cotter to Fifita (I think)
Armstrong/Hughes to Hands
Unfortunately I likely have to make 4 trades which takes me down to 7. If anyone wants Trell I’d be a bit more wary now as I think either Burton or Trell will be centre for game 2.
If anyone has any advice to please offer go ahead?
Team pre trades….
Grant
Cotter Sorensen Moale
KPP Aitken
Dylbags Galvin
Iro Strange
Garrick Drinky Armstrong
Brailey Plath Weekes S. Fainu
Hughes Hynes Teddy Kris

Latrell is a tough call this week. Burton or Staggs could both make origin 2 ahead of him, but he's no longer the safe bet I was hoping for

Might happen but would be a mistake if Hynes is fit. Moses gets better in people’s opinion when he’s not playing, which is often.
Couldn’t care less on opinion but to say Hynes is absolute top class baller and Moses is and has been for a long time overrated. Sharks are bang average and were bloody leading the league first couple of months when this fella was fully fit.
Parra behind Moses could have another 43 seasons and wouldn’t go close.
Just showing some respect to a top player not at his peak right now.
… fuck yeah that was a send off. Horrible; slip or not. Shame though for the spectactle

Re: NRL Fantasy 2024 Part 47 - Origin time
Very hard to know what happens re Hynes and Moses. I lean to Moses coming in for game 2 but it completely comes back to if Moses was actually the preferred option if not for his injury, if not then you can't drop Hynes based on that one game.
Not the worst thing selling Hynes last week even if so, will miss 3 games in 4 weeks anyway, just have to bring him back a bit sooner than expected. Hard to sell this week though.

Go Queensland.
Watched the match in a NSW pub. It was empty.
People have been telling me that is normal.
Fortunately, the small crowd took my excitement at QLD's dominance well.

Roosters protected species! Should have been executed on the field. If it was (insert Rabbitohs NSW cup player) they would have been given a life sentence
