Thanks mate - so for those unfortunate enough to have been carrying Macca this season, K-Nik must be a pretty solid "down-grade" option. I think I'll bring him in and upgrade somewhere else.

Scored 887 despite a few poor players.
Only trades I'm considering this week if any:
    Mansour > Dugan/Munster
    Hastings > Foran/Knik

    Smith Parcell
    JDB Jturbo Surgess Blake
Mannering Taupau Cartwright whitehead Henry Leuluia
    Milford Johnson Hastings Feeney
    Holland Kennar Gutherson Auvaa
    Barba Mansour Gordon Mitchell Scott

Yeah I have Macca as well & I'm doing that. It's more for the cash as I can't really afford an upgrade & just hoping K-Nik becomes a solid 30 point option with the ocassional 40-50 score.

The only reason I mentioned it earlier was because Matt Elliot said that it was what he would do, and generally I reckon he's a pretty good judge.

I wish I could stop wasting trades on backs. Trading CLaw for RTS then to Lolohea was pretty stupid in hindsight (somewhat unlucky too), but other than that one position, it seems like I'm forever trying to fix the unfixable with the way CTR and WFB are scored in NRL fantasy. Should've listened to the guy who told me not to reverse the RTS to Holland trade too.

If Lolo's only a short-term injury, then I'll hold, but for now:

    GTFO: HHunt, Lolohea
    GTFI: Munster, Vunivalu

Ash Taylor and Hastings are next in line, one of them might go instead of Lolo. Brock Lamb and Matterson on the radar pending TLT, then Benny Hunt next week.

    1st Draft:

    (C)am, Parcell
    JTrb, BLaw, JBrom
    Ma'u, Cartwright, Fensom, THarris, KBrom
    Milford, Hastings
    Ferguson, JRoberts
    Gordon, Barba, Munster

NPR: Gavet, A. Papalii, Taylor, Feeney, Gutherson, Kennar, Vunivalu, Bowen.

I'm back to having all 4 CTR/WFBs locked into centre only again.. pain in the ass.

    Afternoon Gents

Hope you managed to escape the round 8 injury clusterfudge !

Round 8 was kind to me. Managed to crack 900 for the first time without much help from my WFB's, looking at you Mansour and Mitchell :-(

    Current setup.

    Smith (C)
    Graham,Jtrbo
    Taupau,Whitehead,Cartwright
    Mbye ,Hastings
    Holland, Hopoate
    Mansour,Barba,Mitchel

Res: Parcel, Blaw,Claw,Surgess (Kennar played round Cool
NPRS of note: Gordon :-(, A Taylor, Cullen

Miraculously I don't have any injury concerns (Parcel still pending) this round so only looking to make one trade while still keeping eyes open at Newcastle's half situation (or even Roosters for that matter) for a possible second for Taylor cash grab.

Plan of attack this week is to upgrade BLaw to a gun FRT/2RF. BLaw certainly played his part by going up 19K. Thanks for that fella.

I have enough cash to upgrade to any one of James, JDB, Gallen or Fifita

Thinking JDB at this stage due to bye rounds and dual position. Gallen's scores since his return have been decent to say the least, but Sharks only play one bye round and Gallen will have origin duty as well.

What do you guys think, your pick out of James, JDB, Gallen or Fifita ?

    Loving your work
    River.

Today is going to be a big day with teamlists, AUS squad selection among others. If a Coach is not fired within the week Ill be surprised.

Ma'u feels like a significantly worse option than Whitehead, but it's hard not to bank the cash for the byes.

I just think that the Rooster's have invested a lot of time, money & resources into Hasting's & have been grooming him for first grade over the last couple of years. Just cause Matterson had an 1 good game won't be enough to sway that.

I was looking at this the other way last week - I couldn't afford *not* to upgrade my hooker.
Each week without Smith/Friend is losing points big time.

Can you afford not to upgrade?

Pearce and JWH back though for a team that despite having no kicking game have only lost 2 games by 4 points or more. Not so ballsy for mine

pre-TLT trades are Rochow > Bhana, Packer > JTurbo, a little worried that that makes 3 Manly players in my FRF, but i can switch him with JDB if need be.

@RiverPhoenix - Gallen and James are definite PODs and Gallen scores have been on the up since his return. JDB and Fifita are common picks so maybe try a POD? Your choice at the end of the day though.

The emergence of a forward cheapie with nice byes would be optimal this week.

Whilst there is an element of fantasy wishlist in getting Matterson picked, Hastings made some really poor decisions yesterday.

Not necessarily drop worthy, but if I were Robinson I'd be more upset with him than the bunker.

Had a wee chat to the guy next to me at the game last night about Fantasy.

Poor bastard had Parcell, Lolohea and captained Mannering.
There was one other he mentioned too that copped an injury this round but I don't remember.

With Hastings the truth of the matter is he was never meant to be the dominant playmaker this year but after Pearce royally fucked up he had to take up the mantle. I've defended him as much as I can to other fans but there's no denying his kicking game is quite poor and his decision making isn't too good either.
Matterson had a good game and looked threatening. In some ways he'd complement Pearce better than Hastings would but it's one game. Hastings is our goal-kicker and he's very familiar with the players and the system. Without that added pressure of being the main playmaker he should do better just like when he had Maloney alongside him.
