Why don't they just put GI back there and Walker in the halves?

Is selling Hastings to DCE a sideways move or not? Had Hastings pencilled in as good bye coverage and if Pearce plays Origin (Don't put it past Daley) then he'll get those 50+ scores thanks to kick metres but I don't know in the meantime he's not really a keeper is he? I think I should see him play one more game alongside Pearce and see how he scores before I decide seeing as how anyone can get a huge score against the Knights.
It's just since I'm holding Teddy and there's no good cash outs/cows to trade B Law to this is a good week for me to do some luxury trades.

So Ive come back from holiday to an absolute clusterfuck of a team. No Taupau, no Fensom, no Peats, Hastings on the outer and only 18 trades left. Can I get a little bit of advice on my team? My only plan so far is don't trade because only 18 trades left.

    HOK: Hodgson, Parcell
    FRF: Graham, McGuire, BLaw, Ese'ese
2RF: Whitehead, Surgess, Bodene, Fensom, Taupau, Bhana
    HLF: Johnson, Hunt, Norman, Hastings
    CTR: Holland, CLaw, Avua'a, Kennar
WFB: Mansour, Barba, Mitchell, NPR, NPR

190k in the bank. I have the depth to cover Taupau but don't know if I want him. He's a liability with the way he tackles but I have no idea who to bring in.

Just to further expand on my Wade Graham rant Dead Horse

To have a team full of guns, you're going to have to pick some up for cheap. It's hard to get a cheap gun without them putting up some underwhelming performances. eg. Harris, Merrin, Parker, Wade..

Or injury affected - Teddy, Aitken, Fensom, Tolman, DCE.

The make-up of the Sharks forward pack hasn't changed much from last year (if at all?), but now everyone seems to be gelling effectively. The apparent revelation that Wade was nursing a rib injury at the beginning of the season is a reasonable explanation as to why he was underperforming.

The other positive for me, is that Wade will play all H2H games, so the bye schedule is great from my perspective.

Don't think it's sideways at all, but good point about Pearce and the origin period. I have Milf and Hastings with plans to upgrade Hastings to Hunt, but DCE would be my second option infront of Johnson.

I have SJ so going from Hastings to Milf isn't costing too much at all. Tempting.

Yeah, I made this point last week that I expected Foran to be back. I won't have him in my 17 this week, as I do expect that Foran could return, and the Monday game means I will have no one else to choose from as cover.

I think the consensus is that Toutai will play in the 3 major bye rounds while Jennings is at Origin. Do we still assume this to be correct?

I could wait until next week and see for sure what happens, but then if he does end up playing this week he'll probably be a bit too expensive.

    Question
    Do my thoughts seem logical?

Logical, yes. Practical? Probably not. Is he worth 2 trades? You will have to trade him in and then trade him out. He's not going to raise enough cash to be worth it I would have thought.

Can someone confirm if I understand Taupau's suspension right? So he will be back playing his first game in Rnd 15 right?

If so, unless you have ample trades and/or have too many red dots he is probably a hold right?

My logic is that he will miss round 11, 13, and 14 (which if you have a deep enough squad you can presumably cover him without losing too many points, for me I reckon 10 points a round) and he has the bye in 12 (so you wouldn't have had a score from him anyway). Importantly he is back for Rnd 15, a big bye round, where many will need him to make up or more likely get close to 17 players.

Does that sound reasonable? and am I understanding his suspension correctly?

Yeah, that's fair enough I guess. I'm assuming Jennings gets his origin spot back, he's played pretty well enough.

Are there any other cheap options that are actually going to play at least a few game in the bye rounds? My first choice was Scott, but that's not looking good. If someone has a better suggestion under 180k I'll take it.

toutai is a good cash out if he manages to play all three bye rounds, which he should as long as jennings plays origin (100% will).

wont feature in their backline once foran is back. but it seems like he's the next cab off the rank if theres an injury.

on another note i think i'll take a punt on elijah taylor on the basis he'll average close to 50.

Crunch the numbers on Parcell to McCullough after round 11 then McCullough to Friend for Round 15 or later if need be since Friend misses round 16 and everyone is quite set for round 15 anyway. I know that is two trades but chance to make some money and a few 60s with McCullough if he gets 80 minutes over origin period and also a round 12 scorer. Not sure who else to bring in as wouldn't want to gamble on de gois I don't think (6 missed tackles last week) and Lichaa and Hodgson are at close to there max price. McCulough could be 350K after this week and you could make 70k from a Parcell downgrade? Thoughts?

Yeah might be an option. If Parcell continues his 52's and McCullough gets say 43 (non-injury avg) round 11, the 'downgrade' nets you by my maths about 64k. Then if during Origin Macca gets 60's for rounds 12, 13, 14 he makes about 43k (problem is he still has that 13 in his rolling avg). Not enough cash to make it worth the extra trade. However you would get about an extra 50 points. Lots of ifs.

So depending on your circumstances, the extra 50 odd points, plus the 43k, plus freeing up the 64k now could help elsewhere in the team, could make it worthwhile. No guarantees though and I think for me I might need to save that trade.

Edit: Also allows you to potentially delay having to get in a 600k player which some might not be able to afford yet.

if i go ahead as planned at the moment (bring in ET and toutai/phillips), it will be 11:
hodgson, jgraham, whitehead, kenny edwards, elijah taylor, fensom, norman, lamb, holland, gutherson, toutai/philips.

i've got feeney as well but i cant see him playing.

i'll grab asiata next week, so that would make 12.
