2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 40

Lads, bit of a newbie to the forum but loving the look of it so far and hoping for a bit of advice.

My team currently is:

Smith, Friend
Fifita, Graham, JTurbo, Cooper
Mannering, Surgess, Whitehead, Taumalolo, Taukeiaho, Talakai
Hunt, Norman, Cleary, Watson
Aitken, CLaw, Holland, Davis
Barba, Mitchell, Gordon, Gutherson, Feeney

12 trades left, 31k

Been going along nicely all season but a bit tied up about what to do for round 18. I want to boost my numbers for the round but also pick up players that I might keep until the end to avoid wasting trades.

Any ideas?

This year there seems to be a fair few more top level frf's than previously. I think in addition to the 5 you mentioned, Gallen and JTurbo could all easily be in that category.

I think realistically you want at least 3 of Fifita, JBrom, Surgess, Graham, JDB, JTurbo, Gal.

I think Barba will get his chance at a few big plays soon though in his run home. 2 games against the Roosters and one against Newcastle with four other matches coming against teams currently out of the 8.
If they're smashing teams and making easy metres you can bet Barba will probably be backing up a few line breaks and throwing out assist passes for tries.

Yes but I think it doesn't work if you have both Parcell and Friend and Friend is your Captain option??? Or maybe that's not correct. I don't really know. Ignore this post if you actually know what you are doing as I clearly don't. All I remember is last year talking Bren into ditching his VC on Teddy and placing it on SJ? and Teddy went and scored 100

As far as I can see you'd be better off passing on knowledge rather than getting it. Squad is looking healthy!

I'm in a similar position with both trades remaining and team makeup. I ended up cashing out both Holland and Mitchell as I think their time is done with cash to be earnt and I needed to upgrade my mid range scorers to gun scorers.

I'd suggest drop holland, upgrade Mitchell to Munster

only need Fifita and JDB which will happen over the next couple of rounds

What does it mean for JDB now that Tariq Sims has joined the club ?

Interesting thought, my guess is have the other forwards in the dragons pack adjust, if I was coach I would be thinking JDB too good to sit on the bench for too many minutes.

Sounds like Gordon won't bother Mitchell this season

Atm Mitchell to Teddy costs me 100k, scared to think what it could be after this weekend lol. If he bombs badly may cost 150k. Unless of course I leave it a couple of weeks

Not sure whether to cash out Latrell this week or next? I need to bring in a centre.

If I bring someone in who makes a bit of coin it means I don't have to sell one of Cleary or Lolohea and can use them both as cover on the run home. Doesn't look like there's anyone who fits the bill this week, but if I wait until next week and Mitchell loses $$$, that's more $$$ my new cheapie has to make.

Thinking Mitchell to a Centre, Scott to WFB as none of my current ones are DPP. Gordon to Tedesco next week.

Maybe Talakai if Kirisome is out for a bit?

Think it may be somewhere around 50. I was hoping to have Teddy for that Round and beyond. For overall and H2H purposes.

Teddy has a 72 be, Mitchell has a 65 be.

If Mitchell scores a 35-40 and Teddy scores 50-55 there won't be a big swing either way.

What I'm hoping is that Mitchell goes good this weekend, and even if he loses 20-30k, I would happily pay that difference to have the points for this round from Mitchell and then the points next round from Teddy.

Edit: of course it is fantasy so in a heartbeat you can drop the soap and get smashed up the rear.

He should line up against the Steggles Roosters.

Had a look at another option for trades

Mitchell > Talakai
Fensom > JTurbo
Grant > Brom

Leaves me with 9 trades and 50k

Would mean next week id need an AE for one of my Eels WFB but luckily that comes from either Barba or any number of FRF/2RF......... Oh bugger or Talakai

Then i can use Holland or Guth to get to Teddy
