Good news Dugan owners, he has completed training and should be right to go vs the Knights pending Captains run. Even coming back from injury he should rack up a century vs Newcastle.

Or he could kick his toe on the dressing room door after warmup sending him to the ground rolling around in agony. After being rushed to hospital for scans the tests reveal that he is a medical miracle man surviving with a heart the size of a peanut and no trace of measurable brain activity.Bren wrote:Good news Dugan owners, he has completed training and should be right to go vs the Knights pending Captains run. I've got 17 for this round including Eden
What would happen if I took the "R" off Eden and put it on Hughes who at the moment has a red dot by his name but has a slim chance to play if Thurston is rested.
If Hughes does play I'll get his score but if he doesn't play I'll get Eden's score anyway as an AE....is that right? It feels like I should chuck the "R" on Hughes as there will be no downside if he doesn't play (apart from Eden's crappy score of course.....)
yep thats correct. you might be better off going with Eden's crappy score anyway so you can use the vice captain loophole

True, but then if Hughes plays and gets a 50, no loophole and then he gets Eden's 12 points.
Wait for the late mail, but unless I had a brilliant loophole, I'd put the R on Hughes and see what happens myself.

Some capain options and their 2016 ceiling in order of appearance this weekend for people looking to loophole:
Surgess - 98
Cleary - 72
Dugan - 87
Gallen - 77
Fifita - 79 (has scored 70+ in last three games and 68 the game prior)
Barba - 64 (very leftfield option)
Lolohea - 74
Johnson - 70
Mannering - 83
Thompson - 66
Graham - 75
Hunt - 85
Milford - 95 (Has scored 80+ three times)
Parker - 80
James - 119
Leilua - 79
and I can't be bothered anymore... you've got captain Smith playing after all of them.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 41
Thaiday suspended for 2 games. I'd guess Sua or Pangai to play second row and Ese to come onto the bench.
Should I just play Ese in my 17 to be able to loophole VC Fifita and C Smith?

itsJay wrote:why are some of you guys so high up on Hardaker? He'll probably be Greg Eden 2.0
Eden was a fringe super league player who's won nothing. Hardaker was the best back in the competition who's won 4 GFs and last year's player of the year. As said before irl he's decent rather than brilliant at centre but he'd be a steal if he's playing fullback.
That said, he's not likely to be playing for Penrith this Friday if he's just got into the country, so wait to see next week's teamlists.
The other thing is that it could mean Peachey back to 2rd with DPP...

I only have 17 for this round. If Hughes plays I'll have 18 and can't loophole.
Javid Bowen can stuff me too, if rumours were right about green resting all origin players. Pity cowboys play last - might have to assume no loophole is on and do the old fashioned method of just picking a captain

Are we confident with Captain Cam this week?

He only had a light training run on Wednesday, so why not?

Just had a quick look at Hardaker super league stats.
The guy is a tackle break machine. Quick head calculation says he averaged low 40s last year. Puts him in the $370k range.
Typical superleague discount for guys who haven't played NRL before is 30%. But fanhub often play silly buggers with pricing.
Guy is a tackle break machine though, even by ESL standards Only 2 players got more than him last year, Mark Minichiello and Alex Walmsley
The other thing about SL stats is I don't think they include KDs and try saves? IRL his defence is the best part of his game at FB and would be worth quite a few more points/dollars.

If Hughes does play I'll have 17 (assuming Talakai doesn't play which is the 1st game)
I will loophole vc Fifita & c CS9 but since I have McInnes who plays before Smith the loophole will be ineffective anyway.

Haha thumbs up.
Yeah, Captain Cam and VC on Fifita. Might just save teh trades and bite the bullet and give Ese my final bench spot if he plays. If not, I'll get Opacic or someone else.

Unless things have changed, Ray Thompson is next in line, and Hughes wouldn't come in unless Thurston/Coote also out
Thompson got knee surgery beginning of June and recovery time is a month. I have 15 atm 1 CTR 2 WFB but Hughes playing and Latrell>Opacic would give me 17 and still loophole

Playing FB I'd snap your hand off at $220,000, probably do the same at CTR so pretty much yes mateBren wrote:Hey @Welshy, is Hardaker a must have like Whitehead?

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 41
I could do these 2 trades but it would mean eliminating 2 round 18 players
Mitchell & Ma'u out - Opacic & R. James in
It might be the last week I can afford James.
So my option is
(a) do the trades & have 10 players or
(b) don't do trades & have 12 players
Thanks all.

Yeah 220k is an absolute steal. Only have 15 players this week (16 if Hughes plays) so I would have loved if he was running out this week. Ah well, first trade next week for the chumps.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 41
Hmm, so I'm thinking of 1 trade this week - Mau to one of the following:
Mannering
Podene
Carty
Merrin
Kapow
JTrbo
But I've absolutely no idea which to pick. Mannering seems like the best value for money, barely costs me anything but is missing Rd 18 whereas someone like Merrin won't be...
Opinions/Thoughts?
