To do the loophole properly you need a full squad of 17 or less players.
By full squad I mean 1 HOK 2 FRF ... 3 WFBs and 4 reserves of whatever.
If you only have 2 WFBS this week but have 17 playing then you'll already have an AE coming and loophole won't work.
You also need to have no moral compass, as using the loophole is only for dirty cheats.
If you don't wish to loophole, just go back to torrenting Game of Thrones or whatever else you do.
If you are still OK with things, select a VC who plays before your captain.
Preferably on different days. eg Fifita plays just 2 hours before James Graham, so you won't know Fifita's final score before having to decide whether to loophole or not.
Whatever position your captain is in make sure you have a reserve in that position who plays after your VC (or who has a bye)
Eg if Cam Smith is your captain, but your other hooker is McInnes, you can't loophole because McInness will lock in position as soon as the round kicks off.
If your VC is Fifita and your 2nd hooker is Lichaa note that as above Lichaa will lock basically as soon as Fifita's game finishes so you won't have a lot of time to decdide whether to loophile or not.
Players lock whenever their game starts, whether they are actually playing in the game or not.
Bye players remain unlocked right through the round.
Now if your VC gets a big score you are ready to loop.
Personally 60+ is what I'm after, take the money in the bank and don't worry about the risk of a 5th minute injury screwing up things. 50-59 its use your gut time
Under 50 and stick with your original captain choice
To loop just sub your captain out with a player who has not yet played.
It does not matter if this player is a reserve or an NPR, if you keep in mind the following.
If the player you have subbed into your starting team does not play this weekend - carry on.
You will now get an AE for that player, and if you've done things right it will be your (ex-)Captain
If the player you've subbed in is one if your reserves then read on -
eg Lets just say Cam Smith is your captain and Josh Hodgson is your other hooker
You can Still swap Smith and Hodgson, as long as you do it before either game kicks off.
BUT - if Hodgson was a reserve, and you swap him for Smith - you will now only have 3 reserves named.
So you will be playing with a team of 16 - and if all those 16 players play, you will not get an AE.
If you manage to name a team with less than 4 reserves (for any reason, not just attempted loops) they will not give you any AEs to make your team up to a full 17.
Your AE could score 200 points, but unless there is a DNP in your named team for him to sub in for, you will get zilch.
So if you are in this situation, make sure that after subbing your captain out, that you give yourself a 4th reserve - someone on the bye, or a red dot player yet to be locked out.
Then your captain can become an AE for this new reserve.
panthercraig got stung by this last bye round, but let us all learn from his mistake.
Final thing is to be careful about possible late inclusions that might pop up and become your AE instead of your captain.
Specifically North Queensland on Monday night might have a few late changes that could stuff people's AE situation.
Last thing you want is for Jahrome Hughes or Javid Bowen to pop up with a 15 and stuff your loophole.
So after all that, well done. You have successfully looped. Just sit back, relax, and watch as your original captain scores 100 and you realise there is no way to unloophole
