Sounds like trouble regarding DCE.

Manly coach Trent Barrett says Daly Cherry-Evans and Tom Trbojevic will both have ankle surgery at the end of the season but will play on through the discomfort as the Sea Eagles try to unearth some hope in 2016.
"Tom is on one leg. He will have ankle surgery at the end of the year. So will Cherry," Barrett said.
That's the way Trent. Flog your franchise player and your best youngster by playing them injured until the end of a season in which Manly will not trouble the contenders. They probably won't be right for the start of 2017 so you'll wreck that season as well. Sets him up nicely for a mid season sacking next year. Clown.

thinking on holding off on a latrell-tedesco trade and hoping teddy drops a bit more $$. would mean i have to cop a stinky Asiata AE (assuming mck, welch dont play) - bad idea? need all the coin i can get at this stage.

In that situation I would wait, Asiata might have more minutes in a side backing up from origin (although on Monday) and Ted against the Storm might do only a bit better

Thank fuck I'm not alone. Been such a battle to get back under 4000 rank. Was rank 10000+ before the first bye round and joining in here.zorasdomain wrote:

Learned some stuff since finding this place so the start of next year should be better. But shit, that doesn't help this year.

I'm confused Welshy, are you saying that I need a 50+ hooker as cover for Smith even if I don't intend to play him in my 17? I was thinking that Wallace just sits there as an 18th/19th man.
No mate Wallace is a good option as cover from now until the rest of the byes but if you are low on trades I probably wouldn't get him in. Who are you planning on getting him in for?

Don't stress over team value mate it doesn't mean a lot on the grand scheme. You might have a heap of undervalued guys who hit a hot streak at the end of the year or someone with more value might end up with an injury to a 500k player with no trades and suddenly that value is misleading.zorasdomain wrote:

I think for you, though, it sounds like a feasible plan. I can understand your reasoning.
My problem is that I didn't have any idea what I was doing for the first 5 weeks or so and made a royal mess of my team. As such, my team value is only $8.6 mil, which seems to be way less than everyone else around here. I was thinking I might just need to give up and realise I can't have all the best players in every position. Eh, I dunno

No I was thinking of Parcell to Wallace as cover for Smith, but keeping him there for the run in as cover for Smith but hopefully not having to play him. Terrible idea I'm guessing?

What is the point of bringing him in if
1) You're not going to have him in your final 17
2) He is not going to earn you a lot of money

Guys I know people say FB's struggle against the Storm and people are reserved about bringing in Tedesco, but just remember its James Tedesco and he can bang out an 80 at a moments notice

That is true, to a degree. But it does mean a lot if it is because I have a lot of players under $200k. Like, heaps. It's horrific. And they are not making money. So overall my team is rooted.

Yeah mate my first year also, was lucky to join this forum in the preseason. My starting team wasn't super but with the help of you guys I'm generally making the right trades I think. I post some out there ideas for discussion but think long and hard before I pull the trigger and I hope it helps others also.

How many trades you got left mate? Not a terrible idea in that instance and if Wallace keeps playing 80 he will be decent bench cover outside a 17, I would suggest moving him into the halves though and get a second GUN hooker to finish the season but pointless if Parcell is only out a week

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 41
Damn, would have had a solid 17 if Parcell was fit.
My squad this week;
Smith (Parcell)
Fifita Surgess (Ese Leulani)
ET Lowe Carty Claw (SST Talakai)
SJ Milf Cleary (Feeny)
BJ Lolo Holland (Guth)
Barba Munster Aitken (Semi Mitchell)
Might do Mitchell to Opacic as a cashout, then maybe Guth to Mannering via Claw. Means I lose 2 round 18 players though.
What do we think about BMoz not getting named but JMoz has? What if both are fit, Holland could be a late scratching perhaps?

Every time I try and guess how long a player is out I'm wrong, but from memory last time Parcell did a hammy it was two weeks, and then he misses the rd 18 bye. I've got 10 left if I make the trade but I want to use five to get my final team leaving me 5 after round 20 all going well (which it won't going on trend).

I'll be better next year, that's for sure. After round 5 I was ranked 39,000. Yikes. I've made good progress since then but it's all starting to come apart, with my serious lack of both trades and money. If I had one of the 2 I could salvage things.
I can either go for broke and hope for no injuries, or play it a bit safer but not have a full team of guns. I don't particularly like either option.

Yep Parcell out screws things royally. My proposal of Wallace gives me 17 now but also cash to expedite my Mitchell to Ted trade if Holland is a late exclusion, which we'll know before the Tigers play
