Anyone have an opinion on Mitchell Barnett? He is a 2RF who costs 248k right now, scored 75 points last round (1 try) and has only had two matches.

    Parcell - Wallace
Lolohea - Norman or Mau or even Grevs if he can cement a 2RF spot.  (Which he probably won't with Hardaker coming)  Or a cashout to Manu if he can keep a wing spot.

Wow! Where are you ranked? With 15 trades I reckon you are doing the exact right thing. Trade to maximise Rounds 18 and 19, that's where you can make MASSIVE ground. Then see where you are at. If those next 7 trades also happen to contain a couple of keepers then even better. Coming out the other side of byes with 8 trades is awesome. There will be people literally with no trades after this round and I reckon the average after Round 19 might be 4 or 5.

    Pre TLT 17:

    Smith (Friend)
    James, Graham (Surgess)
    Harris, Parker, Taupau, (Whitehead, Taylor)
    Hunt, Cleary
    Holland, Su'a
    Munster, Aitken, Barba

    Putting Su'a in over Gutherson/French/Mitchell

A lot of Raiders fans were talking him up pre-season. His base stats of 49 with that 75 total in 69 minutes are very good for that price; and his first score of 28 in 59 minutes looks shit, but base stats were 37, which looks better.

Technically he is averaging at a 400-450k player (but only 2 games and a try with TB's to slew it).

What are you looking at him for though? Even if he maintains his position he still has one bye to come. Are you just trying to find a cheap option that may score well? Is he going to be in your final 17/18? How many trades left mate?

    Thanks SI. My current rank is 2764 so not great, but not horrible either and plenty of room to make up ground. My team at the moment is;

    Smith Parcell
    Fifita Surgess Ese Leulani
Lowe Carty SST ET Claw Talakai
    SJ Milf Cleary Feeny
    Holland BJ Lolohea Guth
    Munster Semi Mitchell Barba Aitken

So as it stands I have 12 for next round if Carty doesn't play origin and Semi does actually come back. Trading Parcell and Lolo this week leaves me with 14 players and then with 3 trades next week I can potentially get a full 17 for round 18. Haven't looked at round 19 but Claw and Holland would probably go then, so should be close to a full team that week too.

Looking at Wallace and Norman or potentially Friend and Manu, we'll see what TLT dishes out. After Lowe's performance last night my mentality has changed for some reason. I wanted him as a keeper cause I like him as a player but the way the game went showed you can't predict how fantasy goes so just want to maximise the points over the next two bye rounds.

I have 11 trades left. I am not bothered about the bye round as he would just be used as an emergency reserve to replace Pauli Pauli with the hope that he will
play big minutes and have an avg of 45+ from base stats. He performed well in a single match but if he can keep a first team spot then getting in early will make
    the trade a steal.

missed out on a straight gordon to tedesco trade by $1k.... took the risk thinking he would drop more against the storm, but it still hurts when its that close. may have to wait another week and risk it again.
Also, radradra can you make a fucking decision this week please? nobody likes mid season contract disputes, so make it quick and clean

You are only 500 or so points off the top 1000 so you could potentially get your ranking into 3 figures within the month. It's what happens after that though so if you grab a few keepers whilst maximising your bye coverage it's win/win. Have a look at Merrin if you don't allready have him and see what you think-killing it the last month and has finished byes. It would be terrible luck (and piss poor coaching on Daley's behalf if he gets an Origin call up).

Just watch Norman, he has his court date in a week or 2. I personally traded him out for Cleary last week as he had served his bye coverage purpose. Even if he plays on, the Eels are potentially 1 loss away from losing all hope and becoming a rabble.

Yeah, I was impressed by Merrin last week, and was definitely thinking about him. As you said, the only concern was origin but surely Daley wouldn't put him in game 3. Wouldn't have enough money though to get him this week if I went Parcell to Wallace. I also thought about Norman's court case but he's scoring good and worse comes to worse I have the trades to get rid of him again if need be. Mau is another option but inconsistent in the scoring department. I like the look of Grevs last week two, but minutes obviously a concern. Not many other options as any Sharks player will be in Origin anyway. Graham an option but I definitely think he will get his chance that he deserved in game 3.

Also toying with the option of swapping Milford for Wallce, but probably won't go that way.

Yes, everything I posted above in relation to my trades depends on Semi. If he dodges his plane again and doesn't come back tomorrow, he could just be a trade.

This week I've made some changes to the Carter Awards. I made a Democratic decision, Kim Jung-un style and decided to abolish the equal winners scenario were I can. I was getting too many names on the honours board so will now use a tie-break system where the winner, if tied will be the one who plays less minutes.

One could argue this system could be used for the whole thing but that is too difficult and time consuming so will only use this rule in a tie-breaker situation like last week for example.

Anyway, this weeks winner is Mr James "BBQ" Maloney. He's had plenty of negative stats this year but he finally has a week to himself. A close second this week is everybodys most hated player and grub Greg Bird.

Blake Greens injury is listed as "Indefinate". Could this be the week Harris gets DPP?
