I have 9 trades this week (pre any trades) and I think I am on the low side (Its because of my low trades that I made the killer decision not to bring in Cleary)

There should be a few teams around the top with double figure trades left (and those with less might not find themselves at the top when the final few rounds come along)

I'm also at 9 trades this week before making any. Something I'd be curious about, are people aiming to have 17 with everyone else nuffies (and a few trades for injuries) or are some people looking at keeping an 18th or 19th man (such as Cleary) as backup? I was going for the latter but I might end up going the former due to cash restrictions.

I tend to always end up with an 18th and 19th personally.

Ok but @StuDogg101 & @SI do you have a preference for either if you had the choice?

Even if I could get down to 17, I don't think I would; 18/19 makes me feel more secure.  With the changes to the loophole though 17 may be the ideal number for the run home but it's a luxury for those who have the trades left.

I would have 18 good players. But if my 18th player is average/poor then a 19th who is also average/poor isn't so detrimental. It's hard to work it so that you have 17 players flat and also trades remaining but I guess that would be the ideal situation if you could manage it, considering the loophole possibilities etc. The worst scenario is 18 good players and 1 horror AE

Cheers lads, I think I feel pretty much the same. Not sure if I care strongly enough about either so I might just let the chips fall where they may

I feel dirty just thinking of bringing Ennis in this week for Parcell. Plays this round and next which Parcell doesn't. And like the list says on the last page, he may be in some form. Wouldn't be a locked in reserve option either as my FR and 2R has that job.

    Someone back me up here?

Well you can do all the research in the world but then you get Lichaa/Segy both going down injured first round along with Benry. There's 3 trades there alone without trying to work out what to do with Ah Mau who you planned on getting more minutes.
Kane Evans in the same boat, expected more from him early.

So you are probably right, guess I am a noob
As an example Ryan James, Milford and Hunt all scored 30 odd in round 1 (below par wouldn't you say?) All of them went on a run of 50+ scores over the coming weeks (balancing out their round 1 scores like I suggested) (Milf and James busted out some massive scores over those coming weeks also). I bet there were many players with those blokes in their squad. Goes to show that your round 1 score/ranking does not mean a whole lot comes seasons end and doesnt rule you out as a winner from the get go like you suggested.

Also if Norman is to be stood down for any amount of time due to the court case, who would be playing in the halves with Foran gone also?? Has Gordon ever played there??

I only ask because I'm bringing him in for Lolohea. I've lost the plot haha
