Can also confirm that they count the ground cleaner staff following the game and all the guys working on the overpriced food stands as well! In fact, anyone that comes into the ground, including the groundskeepers dog!

I love benji. I too think its a great signing if its true.
Does his inclusion improve the team? I am not sure about that, but he brings a lot of experience thats for sure.

Would be interesting to see how he is used if it happens, considering bennett has already said that he wont be playing halfback.

Benji isn't what he used to be but I reckon you can still get value for money from him. At the Dragons he had to be the man because their attack is so shit, but he could certainly be a good support player with Hunt, Milf and Boyd being primarily responsible for scoring the points.

I can only really think of him being a depth signing. Surely he's not ahead of Milf and Hunt. Having said that, we've had an extremely good run with injury with those two in the last 2 seasons. If one of them went down with a long term injury there doesn't really seem to be any ready made replacement coming through. You could play Nikorima, Kahu or Boyd in the halfs if you need to, but that would be weakening one position to strengthen another.

I did hear reports on the radio that if he is signed Hunt would go. Surely you'd keep Hunt unless there is more to it than that, such as a disciplinary thing or salary cap issue. Hunt would get twice as much as Marshall on the open market. Probably more.

As one of my mates suggested, perhaps we're signing him for all the flick passes he will throw to Napa.

Read in the paper that Bennett has said BHunt is safe and Benji could play FB and centre also (which indicates depth signing).

Defence could be a problem in the centres. I certainly wouldn't want him defending outside Milford. Still, like you say, I'd love for him to be in the squad, work with some of the younger guys, and easily slot in should the halves be missing due to injury, rep football or suspension. He could easily also play the roving reserve position that Morgan and DCE have done pretty well in origin, though that would rely on McCullough being an 80 minute player, which he can be, but I like what Niko has added off the bench the last couple of seasons when not injured.

The dynamics could also change before round 1 2017 as well. Is Oates maybe going to trend to the forwards. He might have to if he can't remember how to catch bombs. Is there going to be a further reduction to the interchange? Didn't it go from 10 to 8 only about a month before the season started this year? Benji would certainly benefit from reduced interchange.

Broncos Fan Rule #1: Anyone that could potentially come to the club is tenfold better than they actually are - Brisbane can't do bad business.

Broncos Hater Rule #1: Anyone that plays for the Broncos is rubbish but they're over the cap because the player is bad.

As long as we get Napa then I don't care about the Benji signing. It is just for one year after all.
