I love the idea of relegation and promotion but it would be hard to maintain. If people dropped out all together and didn't want to play the next year it could stuff it up. It's something that in 5 years would be huge and people would want to get involved.
Plus I would be the King of L23.

Also considering a new League next year that would be like L1 and L2-full of guns but would have a minimum few years of posting as a further qualification.
What did I miss, what's the A for ?

If people drop out (and it will happen) then someone either rgets a bonus promotion, or someone gets a reprieve from relegation. Would be slightly harder to maintain.
But if it can go for a few years then getting to and staying in L1 would be a real achievement . I have a private league that's been going over a decade and it has 2 leagues with promotion/relegation. It certainly adds something to the experience
Would also act as motivator for teams to finish the year strongly to maintain their league ranking

We're abandoning the current system of determining league rankings. Won't be going promotion/relegation howver, but things will be done alphabetically.
Unfortunately for ASI, its going to be reverse alphabetical, so he's just chucked himself into L34

good luck mate, that's me (thanks SI/ASI - just quietly you've thrown off the forum centre of gravity by adding the 'A' - its unnerving).
Should be a good match-up. I've got one trade left but not sure where I'll use it at this stage. Might come down to Aitken and Dugan against the Knights for me, vs Croker and BJ against the Tigers for you.
May the best team in red and green win.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 49
Regarding the ongoing discussion about league rankings, I'm for some changes. I have had a horrid collapse in the back end of this year meaning that I should be in a lower league next year (despite keeping up to date on my team all of time).
That being said, I started last year in L7 and moved into L2 this year after a good year last year. Not sure that's entirely fair on others.
The only way I can see it working is for anybody new that hasn't played the year before to be started in a newbies league (a la L7 for example) and, based on their rank (overall points) be promoted from there. However, you can only go as high as L4. To get into three, two or one we could then utilise the promotion relegation system. So kinda a hybrid of both ideas.
Thoughts?

If we run with promotion/relegation we can also have one Fanatics High Achievers league which rewards those low leaguers who finish top 100 or whatever

I am actually very lucky with this matchup- completely out of trades and Tauks goes down last week. The only active other player I have is Matt Parcell, who seems to be starting this week. Could very easily have had 16 players (Would have suited the style with which I somehow limped in through all my semis a player down). Best of luck to you bud, should be a good matchup with plenty of unique players! I too sense a Rabbitohs victory here...

I like this idea but I also like the structure that we already have set up in our leagues.
The last thing I wanna see is a million different leagues with the same players in them a la Renegades.

Yeah i dont like a heap of similar leagues, though it does happen because everyone wants the free subscription at the start of the year, just need to avoid calling them ones Fantasy Fanatic leagues.
Im saying just the usual 1-7+ promotion relegation leagues and only one extra league for the high achievers

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 49
Hearing ya Shanbon, it would definitely be nice to have an ultra competitive league for the guys regularly well up there. Obvs as we grow as a forum and more people join in then we will need to adjust what we are doing.
My other pet hate with leagues is the difference between overall and H2H. I was stoked to be invited into @Cuban Mafia Sand Slugs invitational league this year but crashed and burned due to focusing on overall... I guess the only way I get around this is to create two teams (and God knows I struggle looking after one!) Lol.

Having 2 teams is cheating mate. The way to get around it is to just not give a stuff about h2h, some of my friends are h2h only players and they are bloody hopeless but due to the way the game is structured they have a much better chance of winning leagues.Mearcats wrote:Hearing ya Shanbon, it would definitely be nice to have an ultra competitive league for the guys regularly well up there. Onto a fantasy related question.
have a Grand Final this weekend in a private draft style league. Have 1 free spot on my roster to get someone from the free agent pool
Slim pickings, but which of the following is most likely to do something this weekend (likely won't even make my 17, but just want to keep options open)
Danny Fualolo
Jesse Sene-Lefao
Ryan Simpkins
Matt White
Dylan Phythian
Josh King
Patrick Kaufusi
Angus Crichton
Drew Hutchison
Michaek Chee-Kam
Joel Edwards

League rankings should consist of
(A+B+C+D+E+F) divided by the magic number = League Ranking
A= Overall Ranking
B= League Ranking
C= Number of post contributed on this forum
D= Reputation on this forum
E= Eliminator Ranking
F= Alphabetical Ranking
With Overall and League ranking having the largest influence on the value
