It wont be long until you actually make a profit from the cap and end up with more money than the NRL allocate.

    Holy fuck lol!

Hearing Dragons are going all out for Hunt, even rumours of a 6 year deal. If they are offering $1Mil a year then surely he will take that offer.

Newcastle prop Korbin Sims is poised to quit the club to immediately join the Brisbane Broncos after securing a release from the final year of his contract at the Knights. Another signing improving their cap position definately on less than Roberts.

Our line up is looking strong for this year. Hope we can convert what we have on paper into another GF appearance.

Wow... he will prob be a great singing for the Bronco's. Not a great leader, not the kind of player Newcastle need at this stage in his career but could do a good job in a side like the bronco's.
Obviously his signing will help the cap out too.

I don't understand how your lineup is strong when your 1-5 is absolutely woeful minus Boyd who's coming off a brilliant year.

You've lost more than you've gained, I can't see where the improvement comes from if Bunt doesn't get his shit together

You are right. We should have Super Kenny Sio to strengthen our outside backs.

Instead you've signed struggling 5/8 Benji Marshall to play in the centres.

The latest about James Roberts is the nightclub is refusing to hand over CCTV footage to the NRL investigators so either
    a) it's an absolute media beat up and nothing happened
    b) Broncos have paid the nightclub under the table to not hand over the tape.
    c) something way worse has happened that doesn't involve James Roberts and they don't want to incriminate anyone else.

As much as I would like to fuel the fire and say it's B, it's most likely A and James Roberts will get yet another lifeline.

Or, more likely, the nightclub doesnt want to grass on it's high profile patrons and would love to see Jimmy's return business.

Some of this and some of B. Although B isn't an under the table payment, it's sending business their way in the way of hiring function rooms and bar tabs for events etc.

That too. Although I still think he will get away with another slap on the wrist.

I hope they bring back that promotion where if you catch a game ball in the crowd you get to keep it, on the other hand we might run out of Steedens!

How on earth the NRL can let the Broncos sign another player for 200k under market value is a joke! They constantly go on about "market value" but never ever enforce it (other then Izzy Folau and the Eels). Only yesterday they said Barba would need to be signed to market value of 300k (half his last contract, though i have an issue with this it should be full amount)

To sign a guy currently on 300K+ for a 2nd tier 85k contract is a blatant rort that the NRL only seems to allow certain clubs.

It's my understanding that the Knights have paid him 90k already this year and his second year will be heavily back ended to make up for the short fall however with a clause in his contract that if there's an opening in the top 25 then his contract will be boosted straight away.

Still dodgy af but that's the NRL and that's the Broncos

I dont care what he actually gets paid by the Broncos as its his choice to leave and the club agreed to release but any swaps like this the new club should have the full contract money from current deal added to their cap.

Any NRL player that would play in the 1-17 each week, which he will for the Broncos should not be able to be on a second tier contract. He's no scrub, however I'm not upset he left. Hopefully another Sims will drop the ball in a final and cost them the game.
