Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 1
Just out of curiosity (As I cannot recall) did Tom Trbo have surgery at the end of last season? If so does anyone know how his recovery is going? I do recall he was playing busted for a fair while there though.

I wouldn't be so confident, Brown still doesn't know what orifice he shits from. Sims might play lock, what about Jacob Saifiti, where does he fit? The Newcastle side named for round one will definitely be different to the side that takes the field for round 2, that much I am sure
K. Sims wants to go to the Dragons to be with Tariq.

I just read something about this this morning. Yes he did have surgery and he is back at training and the only fullback training at present, but he hasn't worked with the rest of the spine yet.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 1
Tried making a team squeezing 1 elite gun into each position - couldn't do it in CTR, and the bottom end of the 17 is a bit on the nose, but it would have to save a few trades starting with these guys? I ran an experimental team last year that just took the top priced players until you could only fill the rest of the positions with base level players - ended up ranked pretty well (not as high as my main team, but I neglected it for a few weeks and lost points with non-players). By the last month of the season i was making trades for the sake of using them up because I had pretty much the team i wanted.

Alot of people seem to be throwing Ofa in their squad. I dont think he has alot of money in him. He will probably take on a similar role to that of Wallace last year (and therefore sit around wallace's price).

We made him the highest paid forward in history, and also decided to do it for 4 years. He was resting on his laurels before the ink dried. But yes, your mob did give him an easier task then what we did.

He has the capability to play a much bigger role than Wallace IMO. Granted, that's only based on how he used to play in Holden Cup, but I see him more as a Ryan James style player that can play bigger minutes..

Definitely agree on that, but i dont think it will happen this year. He's still very young. He was put back to ISC last year and was playing around 45 mins a match there. I don't think he will get a bigger role than that in 2017
Mcguire will be the one to take on the Parker style role of big mins. I expect Mcguire to be playing 65 mins a game, if not more as the season progresses.
Glenn is also a reliable bench player who will get a large chunk of mins through the middle of the game.

Welshy wrote:Aiden Guerra priced for an average of 43 - moved around with all the injuries the Rooster had last year. played 5/8, CTR and off the interchange for a 4 game spell where he only averaged around 35 minutes
His avg playing in the backrow over the season is 48, finished the season playing 80 with Cordner
With Tauk out to start the year Guerra will probably start at lock to leave Liu in the prop rotation so will only see about 60 minutes a game

What are the chances whoever gets the edge spot for Manly round 1 turns out exactly like Green last year. Starting round 1 bench round 2 NSW cup round 3?

yeah. gotta be very wary of those bolters. I fell into the Green trap last year. Honestly thought he could lock it down for a while.
Barrett and Nathan Brown. As someone mentioned earlier, Brown will swap up that forward pack every week.

Between Littlejohn, Green and Henry I ended up with 3 non playing centres very quickly last year

Haha me too. I think at some stage early on I had 6-8 injured/dropped players.
