Probably doesn't need a major bump in scores, I would want him to be a season keeper so probably needs an extra 5 or 6 points to be in the top echelon?

He doesn't, already averages 48 mate, What I'm just getting at, is to get those 5/6 points extras he needs to be playing close to 70/80 mins a game because he doesn't have the attacking nouse to get them playing the same minutes as last year (60 min)

Is he guarantee to be playing the full game?

Also was it Sandow or someone Bren talked a few into picking up one year and he ran with 2-3 negative scores in a row.

IIRC I traded in Sandow early on in the season one year as he had a couple of 50 point scores back to back. At that point in time he had a massive break even and was projected to make 100k in a few weeks, so to make some quick cash I traded him in. The following 2-3 weeks he scored in the negatives or single digits and ended up only make 30-40k or something then proceeded to lose value extremely quickly.

I think McGuire is guaranteed at least 65 minutes at lock so he'll score 55-65 on a consistent basis. He's a lock for me. His minutes/tackle count will rises so he'll be a 50+ scorer.

Not denying the potential mate and what you say makes sense, just needs to be guaranteed the extra minutes to get there

I can see McGuire getting over 35 tackles/game easily. Add to that well over 100m then everything else is a bonus

Cool thanks Welshy and WL just trying to make sure I'm reading it right. I want to go over some of my selections that I kinda "locked in" a while ago and make sure I can't do better.

Didn't Moose grow a beard during the off season? That's another 5 points right there.

That is what he had last year, be aware of potential minus scores due to extra fatigue if he gets the extras

Mcguire (58 mins) averaged only 3 minutes less than Parker (61 mins who started lock last year) what makes people think he will play more in the lock role this year?

Has Bennett said he intends on running McGuire for 80mins? Their prop stocks are lacking in experience as it is

No one's mentioned Mannering. Obvious season keeper but you could argue that he is discounted. Take out his starts in the second row and his injury affected 30 and he averages 5 above his price. Any love here?

haha all he needs is a man bun as well to bump that up by another 5 points.

Also I hate having Elgey in my team but then I realised every man & his dog will have him so why not. Still don't like it though.

I'm bored in work today so getting in on everything today

Why are you not keen on Elgey mate? Should be starting with Taylor, quality youngster who has done well before his injury in real life and in fantasy, half is pretty east to score decent fantasy points in, he is cheap! I honestly can't see much downside

Love mannering but cant fit em all. The problem with him though is any time theres an injury to an outside back, he moves to centre

I'm into sc this year & most on the sc sites think he'll play 60-65 minutes. But even they're divided on McGuire & have the same views as yourself mate & can't see much upside with him. However lately I see him in more teams.

My main concern is still: Is he good enough for my 17th player or do I need to plan my team with another reserve?

Coming off an acl injury & Hayne has the potential to impact the scores of both Taylor & Elgey. Also the right edge of Taylor, Proctor & Hurrell might be the go to edge in attack. Plus he was the first player in pre season to get the "training the house down" tag haha. He'll still be in my team though.

Hey WL, did you play SC last year? If so can you recall if there was an NRL Fantasy Fanatics SC League?

Nah first year playing mate. Do we even have a sc thread here. Actually I think I played it 3-4 years ago but I wasn't serious & only spent 5 mins a week on it.

Myself and Bullbender were well into SC year before last, I was top 25 for a long while and he babysat my team whilst I was away, got me a rankings increase then I blew it with some POD trades, I moved into vesting more time into VSDT last year and that paid off with a decent run, NRL Fantasy and SC are too similar for me, so I prefer VSDT and Fantasy because all good guys here are Fantasy
