Yes thats correct. So say a player is priced at a 25 average. After one game scoring 35 their price is 5/15 35 and 10/15 25. After two games scoring scoring 35 then you have 9/15 based on 35 and 6/15 based on 25. It's more complex then that but that is the basis of it

Awesome mate, thanks for that. But on second thoughts are you sure?

Looking at Suli for example, he was priced at around 14.5 ave @ $138k. He then scored 52.

    So using the magic 9475 number he should therefore be currently priced at 1/3 * 52 * 9475 + 2/3 * 14.5 * 9475 ~= 256k but instead he is actually priced at 167k.

    Working backwards it seems more likely that the 1 game he has played is given a 1/15 weighting in which case he would be priced at 1/15 * 52 * 9475 + 14/15 * 14.5 * 9475 ~= 162k

    thoughts?

0.75*old price+MN*0.25*((S1*5+S2*4+S3*3+S4*2+S5)/15) gets you pretty close

I had Nofo last year and I also have him this year in Ultimate League draft so watch him closely each week. His form looks to have carried on from last year. Serious POD.

    Speaking of PODs

If you look at the ownership numbers, in the top 20 players (that scored) there are some fairly good scores/$$. Obviously after one round, its less relevant but interesting none the less

Got him in the L3 Ultimate league too.  Got him in my work league too haha.  Wish I spent the extra and went him instead of Turbo last week, but bringing him in means I can move Turbo to my CTRs and have a Turbo/Talakai solid pairing in there too.

Hey fellas, first time poster here. Just looking for opinions on who i should trade out of my team first out of saifiti/Pythian (or both). The obvious selections would be moga and wallace. Somehow in my mind I decided to start the year with both jwh and saifiti over wallace. Ive seen plenty of people saying saifiti for wallace but im not sure wallace is worth the trade in as hes not a keeper and i want to grab browmich when he bottoms out. The next best option looks like musgrove. Tearing my hair as as too whom i should bring in. Cheers

thanks boys, the price predictor makes more sense now that i know to fill in the blanks with the players priced avg instead of putting 0's in there. for those that struggled with it like me, this how the price predicotr would look for brailey

    Week 1 $138,000 15 15 15 15 38 $157,000

and if he scores 40 this week

    Week 2 $157,000 15 15 15 38 40 $188,000

perhaps i got those last two value mixed up. edited it. also got the 15 by dividing 138,000 by the magic number

Didn't think of moving SiMat down to the centres this early.

Might reverse my trade (Python to Moga) and go Python to Stimson as well.
Gaines me the SiMat/MCK switcheroo but lose the Cotric/Suli switcheroo.

Also gains me $30k which is nice but I don't get Moga in my centres...

    Smith (McInnes)
    Fifita, Kaufusi
    Surgess, ET, Sironen (Yates)
    Johnson, Lamb (Elgey)
    SiMat, Talakai
    Tedesco, RTS, Hayne (Suli)

Just to mix it up a bit.

Another 800+ score would be nice, please! Smile

    Probably captain Fifi this week.

Say if someone got 20pts in rnd one and then 60 in round two would they then have the exact same price and BE for round 3 as if they got 60pts in round one and then 20 in round two?

I wasn't sure if the round one scores have set them somehow on a higher level than any subsequent scores to come

I realise this probably makes zero sense.....hopefully someone is on the same wavelength as me and can decipher it for others ;-)

More recent scores are given more weight.

So someone who scored 20 then 60, would have a lower BE than someone who scored 60 then 20.

If you are using my price predictor - the only fields you should change are those in blue.

Everything else should be calculated automatically.

Awesome cheers, so there's a second weighting in there as well, i.e. the 75% weighting on the current price and 25% on new games.

So this should come as pretty good news to all those like me who (1) didn't understand the formula and (2) missed out on a cash cow because what this all means (in very simplified terms) is that IF you assume a player will continue on at the score they got in round one (e.g Wallace at 56) then by missing out on him in round one, if you pick him up now, you will have only missed out on 1/12 of his price rises.

i.e. the 5/15 weighting for round 1's game score - from the bit in the parenthesis * by 1/4 (or 25%) the weighting outside those parenthesis = 1/12

    Sound right??

Gotta be careful about the assumption around players continuing on at there round 1 score though aye!

yep thanks for making it available for all to use. i thought the jumps in prices felt a little slower than last year.
i now know its because of the hidden averages. makes sense, thanks a lot

Gidday mate, Im not the man to answer you question (welcome though), but from what I can see many people went with Saifiti, and a number with JWH too so your are far from alone.

And yes, you will see many on here suggesting Wallace aint worth the trade in for a number of reasons. So you'll get varied responses there.

In keeping with my theme of not being the person to aswer your question, I'll throw another one out there, is there value for you in swapping Papalii with Yates? Papalii is rated highly at the warriors but even after one  game (and all the injuries) it seems he will find it hard to get time this year. Yates looks to be one of the few cows up front and could be worth the trade... Interested to hear what others say.

On Saifiti and JWH one has to question how much has changed between people wanting them before rnd 1 and now. Is it enough to dump them?

For what its worth though at this stage I am looking at upgrading Paufusi to Wallace based on peoples suggestions (using some money from a down grade).
