He is basically the perfect 14. Covers every position besides front row and prob fullback, but thats fine if we have 5 fullbacks in the side.

If you asked him to play fullback or Prop he would try his very hardest too!

    Latrell mitchell's last 2 weeks:

Absolutely destroyed by dylan walker and then poor enough last night to get hooked, yes pieman, he is not ready for origin, destroying the titans and throwing a gridiron match winner against penny was never enough

Ferguson must be a frustrating guy to have in your club team. Whenever he plays rep he looks world class and is one of the best on the field, but when he plays club football he shows what he can do in attack, but my god he lets players get around him in defence a lot. You can't pick him based on club form, but if he is picked you can't drop him because of his performances.

Mitchell will end up a fantastic player, but yes you're right. Particularly when you look at the alternative options you have at wing or centre. It's not as if you're short of decent players in that position.

yeah fergo was the same last year at club level, absolute turn stile. seemed to aim up for both NSW and australia last year tho so i'm sure he'll be there

yeah latrell is still only 19, i am sure he is a long rep career ahead of him but he still has to many holes and to many inconsistencies to even consider atm

people compare him to GI, i think they forget just how dominant GI was at the same age, yes he could float in and out of games like mitchell but when he switched it on, 19 YO GI was amazing to watch, they played all his tries on fox the other week, since he has put on the weight, you forget just how fast he was early on, unstoppable!

on a similar note, i forgot just how fast chris lawrence was before his injury, there was a video doing the rounds celebrating his 200 games. ball in hand and still slater and bmoz (during their younger, quicker days) actually fell further away when trying to catch him.

He'd be lucky to out run Sam perret these days but was cool watching those old video of what he used to do

I would have absolutely no issues putting him on the wing in origin. None what so ever.
Centre, yep I agree. But wing, he would be fine IMO.

If peats is has 5/6 games under his belt by then, then him but the next is line is prob Brailey, which is pretty scary

converting pearce to a hooker/14 is the right option IMO but wont happen

I think blake austin or jrey as a bench utility would work. Quick out of dummy half, plenty of good tacklers in the blues to assist them with the middle of the field.

I think whoever misses out on a halves spot between Maloney, Pearce and AReynolds can feel a little bit hard done by. I think it might even come down to who is in the best form between now and origin. Can't split them at the moment.

i've gone a bit cold on merrin tbh, looks injured or somthing. been a bit lazy at times

plus i think there are 3 lock contenders playing some really good footy (klem plays lock for the dogs but for NSW he is a prop )

    Jake T
    Finucane
    JDB

the last 2 are probably a bit left field heading in but i'd be with any of these guys, all of them are mobile middle players who can set a platform with their physical defense

Jake T is probably the best defender of the lot, finucane probably offers the most in attack but i would be happy with any of them, TBH i wouldn't mind having 2 of them in the squad but it won't happen

its hard to see our centre's being anything but jennings/dugan imo

    Jack bird the only smokey

BJ has been to rocks & Diamonds, Croker should be a chance but won't be

Hooker is a real concern, wallace is my guy atm, he'll do a solid job but i don't like him being our best option. 2 hookers might be the go, a guy like cook off the bench ??

peats is back soon, will get a chance to push for it but probs get injured in a month

    1. Teddy
    6. Maloney
    7. A Reynolds
    9. Pearce

    14. Peachey

That would be the way I would want it. Peachey is the ultimate utility and can play anywhere and Pearce of form this year deserves to be there but not as chief play maker. Adam Reynolds' kicking game is so much better than anything we have had in years. Deserves to keep his spot.

    1. Teddy
    6. Maloney
    7. Pearce
    9. Wallace

Is clearly (and by some margin) your best spine.

The only problem I feel is that because he played in the halves for so long, Wallace isn't yet considered by most fans a legitimate hooker (despite actually being your best hooker).

The only argument I have against Wallace is the mental demons he would have to overcome after losing a testie the last time he played Origin.
I wouldn't knock the bloke if he was selected and declined the offer....

Well he gave his left nut to play last time so I wouldn't see why he wouldn't be keen to play again.

Wallace is clearly the best starting 9 option, but if he is the starting 9 - we need a younger bench guy to play hooker. Whether its pearce, peachy, peats - I dont really care. Prob would prefer peachy out of all of them but I can see us running with 4 forwards as usual and having Wade Graham as the cover for hooker, or even doing the "last minute" starting at hooker with Wallace on the bench.

Pearce will be there, and unfortunately he will most likely be starting in 7, I would actually really like him as the hooker or utility.

We need the kicking game of Adam Reynolds/Maloney.
Moylan is the one missing out for mine, him and Reynolds.

I hate that they wont come out and tell us who will be picked. FFS, just pick a side to give the guys some confidence.

Agree on Merrin - JTrbo is my starting 13, hes fucking awesome.

I wish woods a short term non serious injury that takes him out of the entire origin series. Shouldnt be there IMO, let alone in the discussion for captain.

2 games Hayne played in 2014 are the reason Daley still has a job. He'll be in every team Daley has a say in selecting for the rest of his life.

Doesn't explain why he'll pick Pearce though (which he will).
