You could even swap Klemmer and Fifita around and have both Fifita and Vaughan coming fresh off the bench. There is no better utility in the game then Peachey. Roberts speed would be a constant threat.

At least after travelling to Suncorp twice this year, NSW get to host twice next year.

Brett Morris has retired from rep football, so he won't be there.

Just standard, really. 2019 there's a game in Perth so we don't get our two home games there either.

Frees up the left wing spot for Hayne, Mansour, Mitchell or TTrbo I guess.

Don't hate that side but I think Klemmer, after this series, has to be given a crack at starting. Bird is an interesting one. I think a lot will depend on what Bennett does with him. If he plays lock, then perhaps he replaces Graham.i like Graham, but I can't cop the stupidity in term s of discipline that he has displayed, same with Maloney and before them, Gallen and to a lesser extent Fifita. What is it with the Cronulla guys?

It's almost as if when they have done wrong in the past they haven't really been punished appropriately for it.

Yes, and unfortunately when they are premiers it's hard to say it hurts them, but it sure as fuck has hurt us at Origin.

In a monumental change to the season's schedule, Sydney will host a Sunday State of Origin match on a standalone weekend.

According to News Ltd, The match will be played at ANZ Stadium and will kick-off at 7:45, which is 25 minute earlier than kick-off occurs currently.

The match, which will be the second of the series, will be played on June 24.

The MCG will once again host the first encounter on Wednesday, June 6, with the third match at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday, July 11.

The regular NRL season will also be reduced from 26 to 25 rounds, with no games played on the weekend of the second Origin encounter.

The last time an Origin match was held on a Sunday was 2001, when all three games were played on the weekend.

Wow I dont remember them being on a weekend in 2001. Thats crazy.
Love that they are reducing the schedule, they just need to drop another 5 rounds off and make SOO after the season, then they will be spot on.

26 Rounds was 24 matches + 2 byes over origin. I suspect 25 rounds will be 24 matches + 1 bye over origin, and not counting the stand alone weekend as a bye, as is the case with the test rep weekend, so realistically there won't be any change at all. It does reduce the number of rounds that are origin effected by 2 though, which is a good thing.

You'd find room for Tedesco in there, surely? Don't think he has a heart problem, tries his ring out every game. Every chance he'll be injured by then, but still.
McLean & JDB would be the most likely to fill the bench out at this stage but a lot can happen between now and next May. Maybe Boyd.

    Dale Finucane springs to mind

Sure ted is questionable as far as the raiders backflip and then leaving the tigers, but do u blame him for wanting to leave them?

And you also don't have room for Dylan Walker? As a Queenslander, this is a team that NSW should pick that "could" rival us but at the very least begin to work together and be great in the coming years.

    1. Tedesco
    2. Mansour
    3. Walker
    4. Bird
    5. TTurbo
    6. Maloney/Moylan (I'm not sold on Moylan in the halves yet but kid has heart)
    7. Cleary (moot point tho as your lot will continue to pick Pearce)
    8. Klemmer
    9. Peats
    10. Vaughan
    11. Jackson
    12. Cordner
    13. Finucane/De Belin/JTurbo

    14. Moylan (if not utilised at HLF)
    15. One of the remaining guys in 13
    16. Friz
    17. Fifita

The contentious call is Fifita of course... The guy is a complete bellend no doubt but he's also a game changer. He simply needs a coach to pull him into line. Daley letting him get away with that shit (if that is indeed how it went down) is laughable from our perspective. Fuck that. If he can't sacrifice for the team then he must fuck off. You guys have a plethora of forward stocks to pick from, the only reason he is there in my line up is purely for the x-factor. If he can't buy into a philosophy though then I'll find another x-factor.

The other thing I don't like about this side is Maloney. He's not a bad player but defensively, missing 9 tackles in game 3, he's a turnstile. He's also a penalty magnet. That's bred into all Sharks players tho. Unfortunately, that can bite you in the butt real quick. The way around this could be to find another CTR (James Roberts springs to mind), play Moylan in the halves and play Bird at 14. Probably offers more utility value than Moyza anyways due to his ability to cover more positions.
