If Hess starts at prop, he could move to 13 if Fensom gets a spell.

Okay somehow through the shitshow of the beginning of the fantasy week I've made some trades I can be reasonably satisfied with. Only question now is who to make the final R.
Kelly, Elgey, Yates, Suli or Burns? Leaning towards Kelly although Elgey would be good if he didn't miss so many damn tackles.

Smith (McInnes)
Fifita, Faufusi
Surgess, Hess, Sironen (SiMat, Yates)
Johnson, Lamb
Moga, Kelly
Tedesco, Rjennings, Suli
Last reserve probably Cotric (over Ese'ese and Elgey) to replace RTS
@Filthridden very similar team to mine. What is your rank. Are you hit by Norman being out?
I have Wallace, Dylan Walker and turbo to your surgess and tedesco.

Based on the Queensland Cup team lists and this article (I reckon that Spina might be coming in as a reserve) 143k over Hoare. Likely no job security though. Who knows?

where do you live?
Tamworth region. Telstra had some automated message explaining the outage when I called, so I guess it wasn't just me.
Johnny B Goode wrote:I'm making the same trades. Don't trust that Idris fella. To make money out of him you'd have to play the long con but damn you just look at him and you see this guy ain't ready for first grade again by a long shot.
I was fully prepared to just let Idris sit until mid-late season, but seeing him not even make the 21 this week makes me think it's just not worth it. Waste of talent, guy's just not committed to footy.

How many people hanging onto Hayne.
His cheapness is the only thing making me consider hanging onto him. 4 weeks is a long time to hold onto someone who looks like potentially only averaging 30s.
Can't see how he will get back to his days of scoring 60+ given his current situation.

I'm holding onto Hayne. Mainly because of his price point and potential. Could be the wrong move however I could still hold him for two weeks and if Slater is gunning it then just trade him to Slater.

If Hayne is going to miss 4 rounds of NRL i'll happily trade him out. Got that feeling he'll be back after only missing two rounds or something, in which case I'd rather just hold. No way to know though is there.

I probably would of sold Hayne this week but had Phythian to deal with. I agree 4-6 weeks is too long to hold a poor performing player like Hayne. I'll be definitely looking to sell next week & try to upgrade him.

Hayne is a hold for me, there's not a lot of other players that would make the money he could make and I want to avoid making trades in the backs as much as I can.

SC is almost the other way around where you want try scorers in your forwards. With the 3 games played before price rises you cant really afford mids with mid scores

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 18
I will ditch Hayne before Phythian even. There are much better options, including a direct swap with Slater.
Been thinking about the Cowboys.
Early in the season there was a lot of noise about the Cowboys trying to give Hess extra minutes. Those who missed his Bonanza last week missed out, but not completely.
As a permanent prop or high-minute 2nd rower, or a combo of the two, he will level out in the mid 400ks at least and stay there with potentially more. That is keeper territory and much better than the exisiting 2RF cash cows. Could be in for DPP status as well.
So this week (strong proposition) longer term (fairly certain value).
I think that Hoare if he plays for the Cowboys it will be next week, so there is time to hold off, but the time for Hess is now. This is in contrast to what I said yesterday, but Hoare (wait and see), get on Hess now.
My trades
Moeroa to Hess
Elgey to Lamb
WFB of RTS, Hayne, Phythian, Holmes, and Suli.
I am going to take the risk that Holmes will play and I will need to rely on a AE of (Yates or Kelly). The downgrade of Moeroa is upwards and Lamb is a timely upgrade.

Final spot for my cts & wfb's = Kelly (cowboys away) or Suli (raiders away)
I reckon the Raiders will bounce back & Suli has both Rapana & Leilua on his edge but he has the ability to beat defenders. I see Manly getting easily beaten by the Cowboys s so I'm not expecting much from him.

Well, if I trade out Hayne, it will likely be for RJennings
Phythian - Abbey as trade 1.
2nd trade is either Papalii out for someone (and unless I take a risk on a Cowboys prop, there are no real promising cheap options out there in FRF/2RF)
Or Hayne out.
I think I'll be happy to trade Hayne back in when he returns - by then it might be feasible to do a straight swap for Suli/Cotric someone who could be close to maxxed out and probably not season keepers.

Suli scoring 28 in a well beaten Tigers team is a promising sign for his scores.
I'm playing him over Kelly.
