Good tackling is technique & heart/no fear. Look at RTS for example. He has an appalling tackling technique. He got knocked out cause he put his head in the wrong place & that's not uncommon. I look at a lot of players especially backs in the nrl & I can't believe how poor they are at tackling.
Matai a great example, human missile who often injured himself due to poor technique and lack of fear for his own safety

Every team needs a Matai type player. A player that defensively strikes fear into your opponents. All the good teams have a player with that mongrel in them & who is an enforcer. I don't think Matai had a bad tackling technique or else he wouldn't of been able to smash opposition players. It's just that he had no concern for his personal safety & didn't hold back even when he was injured which meant he often made the injury worse.

I'm starting to doubt my trade in of Crichton just from my team structure perspective. I was going to sell Yates & move McGuire into the front row. This means my 3 dpp frf/2fr are now all in my front row & I have no dpp's in the 2fr so then it makes it difficult to bring in future 2fr's in 1 move.

This for me also! I want Crichton bad, his MTs he will make up for with TBs and attacking stats like Carty last year. If he gets 80 he will kill it over the season! But I already have JDB, Surgess, ET, Whitehead, even Siro doing well so adding him seems like overkill ATM but if I wait his price will be over $400,000 real quick. Going with the TB backrowers who are doing well I don't think I want to miss out on him as well

Yeah I agree. Crichton is a beast & I don't want to miss out of him either.

Im edging towards keeping ET and giving him a few weeks and getting in Crichton for Yates, if ET doesn't get 50s playing back under Cleary then he is my ticket to Mannering/Gallen with my Siro downgrade cash. Will get my gun prop closer to origin (Graham or Fifita is not named)

Have tentatively gone Yates > Crichton and Elgey > Frawley.

Obviously hoping Frawley is named to start otherwise I'll give Hampton a roll.

Leaves me with 21k and 28 trades.

Not sure if this has been shared or not, but saw it this morning and thought it was pretty cool on several levels (James Gavet talking about his own experiences with suicide, depression, and Foran):

Hypothetically, if Sironen continues to score 40 every week now, how much will his price rise on a weekly basis ? Current BE 23 and 339k, will it be slow rises from here on?

EDIT so fantasy coach says if he scores 34 in both of the next two weeks he will rise 9k then 3k.

I'm in the exact same situation. Weighing up if the loss of DPP's is worth the trade, points, and potential price rises. I think so cause Crichton is a monster.

Biggest rise will be this week and then smaller and smaller increments over the next 8 weeks or so. Will end up a touch over the $380k mark - that's me running the numbers anyway.

cheers, bit more real than your average footy interview, should be more of it.

that is the sort of turn around I had hoped he'd find when he came to the broncos.

I thought he was quite a decent player at Manly.

Says here that Green liked what Leary offered more than Hampton out of dummy half, and a good chance he'll play good minutes.

I owned him as I'm sure many others here did back when he was getting big mins as a backrower and he was a dead solid scorer! Never explosive but good for a 45-50

I'm not sure what his role here is though with any return to normality. Green will always play a Granville interchange but I'd think Hampton has won that. Fensom looks to be gone so this helps keep his involvement in the 17 I'd think, but with no great conviction or confidence.

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/league/91485293/warriors-prop-james-gavet-reveals-suicide-attempts

I hear too many stories of guys in our game having tried to kill themselves.
Too many stories of guys who have gone through with it and shattered the worlds of those around them leaving people overwhelmingly sad and confused.

We clearly need to be doing more to instill a culture where we can talk about this openly.
What else can be done? What else is being done?

    Player welfare must come first.

Cheers yeah, I'm thinking Fifita, mostly because he has been a proven gun in the past and he is a tiny bit cheaper lol
If I go that way I should have enough for J. Bromwich next week too which would give me a team of this for next week. Then no more trades for a while lol

    A. McCullough, (B. Hampton)
    A. Fifita, J. Graham, (J. Bromwich)
    E. Whitehead, P. Gallen, S. Mannering (J. McGuire)
    S. Johnson, C. Norman
    J. Leilua, J. Idris
    J. Tedesco, R. Tuivasa Sheck, J. Hayne (K. Ponga)

Hopefully trade up Ponga to Dugan or similar when he reaches his peak and Hayne to the bench lol

    Impressive team Onthebeat!
Looks pretty good for the round 12 bye too, and with your current ranking you should be able to get into the top 25 soon.

If i stare at my team long enough will one of my 6 straight 2RFs become a FRF/2RF DPP? This is what I am attempting to achieve before lockout.
