Ok, because I have a bit of time to kill lets look at this a little bit more rationally.

Elgey, henceforth to be known as PG because that's how excited he gets me, relies solely upon attacking stats for his points. He is a turnstile in defense (listening to the podcast today and they said in the game against the Broncs over the weekend, not only did his kick get charged down but he then missed two crucial tackles in that same set leadng up to the try). The problem is, with the weighting of the MT points and the amount he accrues each week, he needs to score bulk attacking stats to correct his scores. Maybe behind a decent pack this would be possible (think Milf etc) but Titans have just been crueled so much by injury that I can't see that happening.

As for whether or not you trade him or Jacks kinda hinges on Jacks role at the Storm now with Munster returning. If he doesn't play at all this weekend then no rush to trade him out. The problem is if he gets named as a bench utility and play 20 mins or so and scores rubbish all. I also think Jacks has more potential to cover during SOO and injuries than what LG does to score a decent score.

TLDR - I'd trade LG if you can afford to have Jacks sit on the bench for a week or two and see what happens. Worst case, you trade him in two weeks, best case he doesn't play and you're losing nothing.

thinking I shall go the road less travelled. Elgey to field to bank the cash, then next week I can upgrade lamb to a keeper. My aim is to bring in as many bye friendly keepers as possible as early as possible, so I dont mind burning trades early if I can achieve this.

Everyones favourite trade of elgy/lamb/jacks to Niko..... whats with the love? he averages 35 and in 4-5 weeks he makes maybe 80k and if he returns to the bench and scores a 15 he loses 12k so becomes an urgent trade. needs 40+ average to get close to 100k made.... am I missing something? just want to know why so much interest, is it because he is a cheap starting half?

You're thinking is quite along the lines of Milchys mate. Same thing was discussed regarding Hampton as well. I think this is two fold. A) he is a cheap half with security for at least the next month and B) the first full 80 that we get to see of him he scores 60 odd. So people are hoping that somewhere around 45ish will be his average rather than 35.

I am tossing up giving him a run but can afford to as I still have 27 trades remaining and have managed to miss most bullets so far (injuries/dud trades and the like). My other train of thought is exactly along your lines regarding dumping either Jacks or LG for a pure cash grab and using that to get Pearce or someone in for Lamb next week.

you are in a better trade position than me, I am only 23 trades but i have the following who are looking like keepers Smith, JWallace, Tolman, Gallen, Whitehead, Crichton, Bodene, Norman, Aubs, SMat, RTS, Slater. Also have Hess and Faufusi that are looking good.

Think I will cash out elgey to field for cash. Allows another keeper in next week.

Ideally I'd like to have Cook (assuming Farah gets selected for origin) and I'll probably be forced to carry CS9 for my other spot. I will keep a very close eye on Friend and Kaysa tho, especially the developing situation at Parra with the Rein interest.

I think if Farah gets selected for origin and Cook gets the 80 duties, depending on the rest of the make up of your squad you could get away with someone that only plays one or two of the other rounds (i.e. carrying McInnes). You run the risk of sacrificing points in doing this tho

Yeah, I could definitely get on board with this logic. I probably erred too much on CC early on (missed Hess and Ponga to name a few) but that meant that I saved trades. Allows me to chase a quick one or two now to make up some cash prior to the byes so I can bulk up then...

    Any tips?

    Cam, Cook
    Fifi, Vaughan, Yates, Hoare
    McGuire, JDB, Crichton, Stone, CHN
    SJ, Lamb, Jacks, Frawley
    Cotric, Leilua, Idris, Suli
    Slater, Walker, RTS, Hayne, Abbey

Would I be better off doing Lamb and Jacks to Field and DCE/Norman or Lamb and Yates to a DPP wfb/hlf and Whitehead?

The second option allows me to shift Walker to the Halves if Hayne starts to fire.

Am I a fool for wanting to keep ET? I can swap him to Crichton and then use the funds to get a dud like Rennings out for Leilua (Albeit with 3k left over) but I don't know it just don't feel right to me. 39 points in 80 minutes is bad but he was a genuine gun back in 2015 playing 80 minutes. I feel like I should give him at least one more week playing the 80 to prove he's a dud. I can still get Crichton another way this week.

I think I might have contracted Laurie Daley-itis. I'm loyal to underperformers.

2nd option sounds good. Flexibility of Walker is a bonus while Norman has a bit of cash to lose so you can get him later.
