If you look at et's stats it kinda just looks like he had a quiet game so I don't think it's such a bad idea to hold him for now.Johnny B Goode wrote:Am I a fool for wanting to keep ET? I can swap him to Crichton and then use the funds to get a dud like Rennings out for Leilua (Albeit with 3k left over) but I don't know it just don't feel right to me. 39 points in 80 minutes is bad but he was a genuine gun back in 2015 playing 80 minutes. I feel like I should give him at least one more week playing the 80 to prove he's a dud. I can still get Crichton another way this week.
I think I might have contracted Laurie Daley-itis. I'm loyal to underperformers.
The score he got the week before included 10 missed tackles which would have got him another 50ish score too.
10 missed tackles!!!
The Crichton Leilua trade does sound very tempting tho.

Would I be better off doing Lamb and Jacks to Field and DCE/Norman or Lamb and Yates to a DPP wfb/hlf and Whitehead?
The second option allows me to shift Walker to the Halves if Hayne starts to fire.
Three votes for your second option mate. In all seriousness, Lamb and cook are really the only things that make me pause when looking at this team and I think cook could yet be gold.

I was very seriously going too offload ET this week but with the Idris injury, Jacks uncertainty and a few other more pressing issues he got a hall pass for the week. KBrom gone and Jacks cashed out to allow me to upgrade Lamb next week.
ET was a gun back in the day but all to often I think we hold out hope that this will be the case again for far too long. I'm not going to conspiracy theory levels like some around here but there is something to be said for Boozes theory regarding the game being geared more towards the floppers and slappers nowadays. I just don't think there is room in a 17 man fantasy team for a true work horse like ET or Fensom back in the day.

Seems to be outta favour STO. He had one injury affected round in rd 3 but other than that was averaging about 40mins. Hasn't been seen since rd 4 tho. Scoured all the usual sites and sources on the net to no avail regarding anything further so one can only assume with the emergence of Crichton and Musgrove he's cooling his heels in cup footy.

Hearing a bit of interesting fluff on the wires at the mo saying CHN will sign with the Sharks by June 30, effective immediately. And that Mataulino has signed with the tigpies

ET - Crichton for me this week. Should of gone last week but no time like the present. At the minimum I'm gaining a Good bye player who should match ET playing 80. Best case good bye player with gun potential

If CHN signs with the Sharks before the byes and steps in for Wade Graham over Origin that would be lovely, thankyou very much.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 33
First time posting the squad this year, this includes this weeks 2 trades of Tapine/Jacks to Whitehead/Niko
Smith, Brailey
Fifita, Kfaus (Tetevano, Hoare)
Manners, JDB, Whitehead, Crichton, Stone (Yates)
Niko, Norman (Frawley, Fogerty)
Leilua, Tturbo, Cotric (Suli)
RTS, Slater, Ponga, (Hayne, Edwards)
The good news is I have 26 trades left after this week, but no money. I know the HLFs are weak, and the FRFs could do with another gun, it's just generating the moolaa

a. im thinking vaughns played himself into origin and with a b/e of 63 i think i might swap him to n brown or wallace, that'd give me 260k ish 4 next week to upgrade hess to jdb and maybe chn to whithead or cotric to leilua ...... mayb
b. stick with this lot and save a trade. 25 trades left. thoughts? and thanks
@no_worryers
Hey mate, thought I'd bump this and at the same time I'll throw my 2 cents worth in. Big congrats 2nd overall is awesome mate!
I was trying to think about alternative to the KNik trade and even though I imagine you might have recently only just traded him out, Brailey could well be your best option. Plays 12 and 15 and would be a simple upgrade after that. The main thing for me with KNik is that Hunt could be back before or at 12, in which case you are not actually gonna get that much out of KNik. On top of that even when he does play 80 he has every chance of busting out a 15 pointer... almost no KMs, and mostly reliant on big attacking plays to score points.
As a bit more of a risky play I wonder if Hodgson could be an option? $82k undervalued from last year, great score last week (is he heading back to where he was?), low BE this week (15) so unlikely to ever be any cheaper, and plays 12.
Outside of Hooker my suggestion is to upgrade Hess. A lot of talk he might bust out a monster against the Knights, but on the flip side he is probably one of the few (perhaps the only?) $400k + players that could also bust out a 20 despite playing 80min. I personally don't like that kind of uncertainty from such a pricey player. Holding him could be a massive payoff if he comes off, but I think there is more chance he doesn't do that and hence will lose you money. So I reckon you could look to upgrade him. My preference would be to what looks to be a pretty consistent Whitehead (BE 21 and probably $75k + worth of money to be made), plays 12 and then an easyish upgrade to a bye friendly Gun after that. He's also playing on that Canberra edge that looks to be back to its best and between them are gonna rack up decent attacking points each week - Whitehead will inevitably get some of those. Last week showed though that even without major attacking stats he can bust out 50+ games. Without running the numbers I suspect trading in Whitehead gives you some decent $ITB to make upgrading easier in the coming weeks too.
Outside of Whitehead I guess you could look to a keeper in Gallen (with good bye cover) although $ might be tight on that one depending on what you do at Hooker.
As tempting as BJ is right now I'd hold off on trading Cotric out for him. He's still got some money in him as he should comfortably make his BE, gives you a guy for Rnd 12, so my preference is to hold him and then upgrade him at 13 for a Gun (Harris maybe? as he will play the next two major byes).
Anyway, that's just my 2cents, at worst its just some ideas to consider.
Good luck with your team mate!

Apparently Mataulino flew over for a meeting with Cleary last week, the tigers probably already knew they weren't keeping Woods, a good signing if true.
CHN is a star of the future, cant believe Penrith let him go, the Sharks pack will be an absolute beast with him in it.
While we're talking about signings, Ch7 still saying this morning that Woods has reportedly signed with the dogs, no confirmation though.

I get why the sharks want CHN for next season as they'll most likely lose Gallen Heino and Lewis but makes no sense for Panthers to release now with injury concerns around their own back rowers

How long is Wardle out? Could Stone be a good cash cow option?
