But my point is that you can discount 6 of those 7 games because it was before Morgan really kicked on with his extra responsibility. He only had one try assist and 70 odd kicking metre average because he had Thurston to rely on at the beginning of the season. I think everyones assumptions about Thurston are only correct as long as Morgan retreats back into his shell, but there is no guarantee of that happening.

    Edit:
    first 6 games (with Thurston) 39 (av.) receives per game ; 74 (av.) KM ; 1 TA ; 15 TBs ; 2 LBA
    last 6 games (no Thurston) 75 (av.) receives per game ; 318 (av.) KM ; 7 TA ; 26 TBs ; 4 LBA

"sit back and take it easy Morgan, let Thursty do it all for ya- just like old times eh?" Laugh 3

I'm not seeing Matulino mentioned much. There was a photo posted on sc addicts where he looks super trim & where he said he was very fit. Of course the talk started that he could play the minutes that Woods did which was in the 55-60 minute range. West also play the first bye round.

I don't have faith he can pull off the 50's he needs, save for a huge cowboys win with plenty of goal kicking for him. Morgan went from making 20-30 touches a game to 60-70 when he took over the running of the team. Obviously Thurston will still be the dominant half, but I just can't see Morgan slipping back to "25 touches and 50 kick metres" caliber in order for Thurston to get back to the numbers he was producing pre-injury. I expect Morgan to find some middle ground between his 2016 and 2017 stats, but even that should still take away from JT significantly enough.

I agree, and not exactly the easiest teams to come up against to test the shoulder out.

Am looking to go light in the forwards this year.

FRF have Lodge, Latu with NAS as cover.
2RF have TKO, Murray, Arrow with NAS, RFM, Carty as cover.

What other cheap options am I missing?

    Ese'ese if he starts
Liu if he starts at lock & is not in the frf rotation.

Your 2 starting props are a guy who hasn't played NRL in 2 and a half years. And a guy who averaged 22 points last season.

If you are happy with those as your starters, then any $212k player with a pulse should meet your standards for injury cover.

It is probably OK to have Lodge and Latu in your team, but without a reliable scorer to go with them you would want to be 150% sure you are making up for the shortfall elsewhere - especially as you don't have a reliable gun 2RF either.

Other cheap options to keep an eye on
Chris McQueen and Adam Elliot are 2 I am keeping an eye on.

Sam McKendry isn't being mentioned much, but he used to put up reasonable scorers before injury.
Keegan Hipgrave another I am watching for. Mostly there has just been "training the house down" style stories about him, but if he looks like he can break into the Titans 17 then he is one to watch.
Lindsay Collins is apparently ahead of Nat Butcher in the Roosters pecking order these days

But also keep in mind that bench forwards are not often that useful for fantasy performances. Poor scores and slow cash growth.

Thoughts on this team peeps? :-)

    D. Cook
    A. Fifita, J. Graham
    S. Burgess, N. Brown, J. Arrow
    C. Munster, L. Croker
    P. Hiku, T. Milne
    J. Tedesco, G. Inglis, K. Ponga

    C. Watson
    B. Cartwright
    M. Lodge
    C. Garvey

    S. Havali
    L. Brown
    V. Kikau
    M. Fonua

Had to sacrifice half and centres to start off with.
    Edit:
Could also pick Taupau or something instead of burgess.

I am going to endeavour to have the make-up of my team something like this:

    2x HK
    1x HK/HLF
    3x FRF
    4x 2RF
    1x FRF/2RF
    3x HLF
    2x CTR
    4x WFB
    1x WFB

Gets good coverage across all positions without hopefully sacrificing too many points in my starting 17.

Fantasy players tend to use SST for Taukeiaho.

TKO is more of a supercoach nickname.

    No idea why the difference.

You planning on running with both Garvey and Havili? oR dumpin one beased on who gets the starting gig.

Its a great starting 13, but the bench is very light on and a lot of risky players there. You'll be wanting a favourable TLT to make sure you can get some decent scoring/cash in there

Thanks Michow! Yeah, planning on dropping either Garvey or Havali. Not keeping both. My bench is just kind rough at the moment until I see the team lists. I want to get more cover in other positions. :-)
I like lodge and I’m a big Watson fan. Hoping for Cartwright to get a starting gig if CHN is injured.
