My understanding is Havili will be the ONLY HOOKER likely to be in 17. No indication of if he starts as hooker or comes on as hooker. Plenty of talk of Sezer (apparently known as Chicken) spending time in hooker and Williams playing a role in halves. Just no clarity on how that will work and who fills what role. But the most consistent message is Havilli to be the hooker, wont be getting huge minutes.
i find it hard to see how this could work successfully (the halves shuffle).
If your side is playing well, then it usually means the halves are going alright.. in which case, why would you do a mid game reshuffle?
Sure, in an ideal world there sharing hooking duties (every coach would wish for an 80 min hooker) - but the workload just means they need to split time in most cases.

He averaged around 30 for the 3 years previous to that. I think he's a good pick especially given the Cowboys have a strong team this year. If only he was DPP, I'd have him over Hiku any day (especially since the Warriors are traveling a lot early in the season).

Think its 10 mins til WARRIORS team list. Which is meaningless because I'm not touching any of those jokers.

My team currently. Thing I'm tossing up is whether to skimp on the centers and add into the 2nd row. Would love to be able to start with Brown.

Would you go DCE or Turbo if given the choice?
I have this feeling Walker is going to start well again and at WFB means you don't need to find a half if Cartwright bombs (and go looking for a mid range half).
DCE doesn't have Green anymore so should get decent KM's again
Depending on cash for the above, could even turn AFB into Griffin. Nicholls should hopefully get DPP so would be your cover for FRF/2RF
Very funny team though......
Yeah you could do that I guess, yeah I like C Walker due to round 13 and DPP. Should be a gun fullback. DCE won't be kicking though, Matt Wright will be, just didn't in trial because of a groin niggle

I don't think anyone thinks its going to work successfully.
It just seems to be the tactic the papers are indicating will happen. The Hodgson injury, and lack of a decent hooker has forced their hand I think.

Meant KM as Green would take a few points off him there.
Liking the look of that tea, very similar to my team pending lists

I'm losing my mind. I'm considering Griffin based on a sample size of 2 games where he played more than 40 mins.

Haha he has slipped into my team as I keep getting reminded of where Garvey made all that coin and a lesser extent Brailey
Parcell and Koro in previous years
Worst case after 5-6 rounds you bank your tidy profit and invest in a new cow
Going to try not and over think this. Dirt cheap starting hooker with technically no other hooker on bench.
Coach dropped other hooker based on 'game plan' and Levi while being a good explosive player isn't effective over big minutes

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 8
Just read this on the NRL.com TLT live blog:
Roosters lock Jake Friend would like to see Todd Carney back in the NRL, telling NRL.com's Chris Kennedy: "He's a quality player and as much as everyone says he's a great bloke, there's plenty out there about him. If you know Todd he's a good guy and I think he's done his time overseas. I'd love to see him get a crack in the NRL again so hopefully he gets a few games up there."
Surely he's not moving to lock??

Hopefully he lasts that long - there's a lot of love for Levi. I'm not too worried about Griffin scoring well in rd 1....it's more if he'll even still be picked by rd 2/3.... If Buhrer is going to fill in at hooker, I can only really see it as being either Griffin or Levi in the team rather than both...

I've got Griffin in all my teams atm. Last year, in games he played over 35 mins, he averaged 38 in 46 mins.
I think he can safely expect to play 55 mins, so expecting an average around 40 (at least early in the season) is within reach.

Have said this before, but the fact that Griffin was specifically recruited from the Storm when Levi was already there..he would've been brought in due to a successful culture for a bigger role similar to Kostjasyn?

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 8
Which combo should I go?
CWalker/Kennar/Taka on bench (Pending TLT)
Moses/Hayne/Thompson on bench
Moses/Kennar/Gurgess or Griffin on bench?

My thinking is for something so drastic and to not play Levi it would be a big change to bring him back game 2
You would think Griffin gets a few games to at least give him a chance.
Worst case you burn a trade after a few games and his price means you still have plenty of options
